Holiday Inn Rapid City-Rushmore Plaza

Worst experience ever with staff in a hotel, EVER. I am from Rapid City and was recently displaced from my home due to wildfires in the area. We had to stay in a hotel for a few nights, so I selected this place. I know this hotel well, my daughter used it for her wedding reception, I also use it professionally to host seminars and client events about 4-5/year for the past 10+ years. This experience was awful and I will never return personally or professionally..........I had company in town and we had been displaced. Everything was fine with the reservation, but when we went to bed, the room above us was having some type of party. No big deal, I let it slide for a while, but after several hours, I called the front desk. This was 3:00am. I told them there was lots of noise above us and asked if they could do something. The lady said she would send someone up to the room. After about an hour, the noise continued and then the people making the noise started calling our room to harass us. Needless to say, we did not sleep a wink. I went to the front desk in the morning at about 8:00am and asked for the manager. She came forward, I told her what happened. She did not even acknowledge the complaint......she just said sorry and walked away. When my wife checked out a few hours later, she could not even get the front desk clerk to look her in the eye and he did not say a word when she told him what happened. What the heck?? Obviously they did not want to hear from us at all.......now they do not need to worry because we will never be back and nether will my business or associations.

The hotel itself was very nice and had a beautifully lobby. I was impressed as soon as we walked in. The room was awful, I guess it was a smoking/pet room, but smelled of stale cigarettes. My husband and I both had prolonged headaches and got very little sleep. If you travel with pets, this would be the last hotel I recommend. Breakfast however was good, a little on the expensive side. Also to note the area doesn't seem the safest and there are limited ways to get inside. Be mindful where you park!

This place really made this long trip feel like a vacation. Every single person working was super nice even the maintenance man who brought us a remote because we didn’t have one. They have hot water for days and it’s so beautiful there. Love this place we didn’t want to leave!

Showing it's age, this place is still a safe bet... Close to downtown and the civic center. The shower heads are my favorite I've ever encountered.

We love to have brunch in the restaurant here. It's so good and the all you can drink mimosas are awesome. We've eaten here more Sundays then I can count.
