This is a great place to rest while on a weary bike ride, or just cruising the plateaus of Central Oregon. The folks here are always kind and generous. They accept donations of money and other items. They are always looking more supplies and materials to fix up the Hostel. So stop on by, listen to all the stories from all the people from all over, and maybe offer a story of your own.

How does one even BEGIN to sing the praises of Spoke'n Hostel? We heard legends of its greatness before our arrival and not one was an exaggeration. What a miraculous gem of a place! Where to begin... The sleeping arrangement (multiple bunk beds on the main floor) is comfortable, clean, and clever, with curtains around each individual bunk that allow for privacy. The downstairs is a cyclist's rest day heaven — comfortable couches, a massage chair (!!), board games and DVDs, a public computer (and wifi throughout), a tea and coffee station, musical instruments, tons of useful maps and guidebooks, wonderful cycling paraphernalia and fun decor, and a FULL (and I mean FULL) kitchen. My partner and I took a rest day on the day before his birthday, and the kitchen at Spoke'n Hostel was stocked enough that I could make him a legitimate birthday cake — cake pans, check. Electric mixer, check. Cooling racks, check. BENCH SCRAPER? Check. There's also a great shower set-up and laundry available in a cute gazebo outside (and if the weather had been better we would have enjoyed the very cute backyard). This place is a labor of love and infinite care and consideration. If you're ever able to spend some time there, DO. And throw them a donation for the incredible haven they've created. Thank you, Pat and Jalet! Thank you, Martin! We'll never forget Spoke'n Hostel.

Patrick and Jalet are amazing hosts. I'm here right now and it's March 29th 2021. This place is clean, charming, places to keep your bike inside, upstairs has huge wooden adult size double bunk beds with curtains, downstairs private 2 bed rooms, big kitchen, it's all open spaces so you don't feel crowded whatsoever, lcd tv with movies, wifi, tons of board games and a computer.nThese 2 were so concerned about us when we were headed this way through a mountain area into 30mph winds after we called for a reservation. Jalet called her husband Patrick who drove out of his way to pick us up 30 miles from here and brought us to their hostel. She making us Vegan spaghetti since she remembered my diet choices from staying here before so we could have a hot meal when her husband picked us up. The amount of hospitality and caring these two have is unusual to find these days and I will always remember the kindness they have in their hearts.

I expected uncompromising hospitality and comfort and was not disappointed. I was surprised how simply visiting this perfect hostel in this quaint town would provide a booster shot to my soul. If you are planning to travel anywhere near Spoke’n hostel, find your way there.
