I didn't lodge here this review is for the restaurant.nQuaint, cozy dining experience in a historic atmosphere. Inn/restaurant embraces the history of Sharon Springs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful decor. Ordered a burger, was the best burger I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, juicy, large, and tasty. Thanks guys, keep up the great work.

The service was excellent. I had the trio sampler plate...the deep fried cheese was perfect...the shrimp cocktail was okay except the cocktail sauce was watery and no flavor and the crab cake was not hot. My husband had the pork dinner...large portion, tender which is great...the food seemed reheated and not hot the mushroom gravy was delightful. My roasted beet salad was perfect.

I stayed with my parents and our dog for one night at the American Hotel. The room was fabulous, cozy and comfortable, although the bathtub drain plug did not work properly thus requiring a cup to keep the water in for a bath. The food was mostly delicious, although my father was not so impressed with the crabcakes, everything else was amazing. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs. If you need a pet friendly hotel in the area, this is your place. I would love to come back.

Loved our stay at the American Hotel. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and fresh. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. In the morning there was a good breakfast menu with many choices. Very different from chain hotels. Can't wait to stay there again!
