Gateway Inn & Suites

Our experience at Gateways has been so exceptional, we felt compelled to leave a 5 star review. First off, the owner is fantastic. Very friendly, helpful, and all around great guy. In our particular experience, he saved us during a relocation gone wrong. Truly a godsend in an almost impossible situation. Being one of the only pet-friendly hotels in the area, I highly recommend this establishment if you and your fur babies need a place to stay. The cottage-like rooms are welcoming, clean and homey, reflecting the local ambiance in a tasteful manner. Excellent location, close to Ommegang Brewery and all that Cooperstown has to offer. Prices are very reasonable and honestly cannot say enough good things about this place.

Eric was wonderful during my stay two years ago. Apartment was nice and warm in the winter. Never an issue and I was able to have my mail delivered and he gives a free print with check in! Loved it!

The only complaint I have is that after a 5 week stay, nobody ever cleaned my room. After traveling for 18 years it would’ve been a safe assumption that once a week somebody would’ve came in to clean. The owner did come in and change towels the first two weeks but after I confronted him about who comes by to clean I was left to fend for myself. No vacuuming, no cleaning of the bathroom, no changing of towels or bedding and linens. It is cheaper than a hotel but you’ll take the good with the bad.

We had a great stay at the Gateway this April. Eric, the host made sure we felt welcome and properly accommodated. The inn was a comfortable distance from the H.O.F. Cozy and quiet. I loved the baseball-themed room names and artwork inside. Eric even let us choose one of his watercolor prints to take home with us. Even though we didn't bring the dog this time, we were told pets are welcome.

We had such a relaxing time in the Cooper Suite. Our two labs loved having the big fields to explore. The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Why would anyone traveling with dogs stay anywhere else?
