Mount Morris House

My partner and I stayed here last year and LOVED it! We are planning another trip to NYC next year and will bring our grown up children - we wouldn't stay anywhere else in NYC. Our apartment was lovely and quiet, the guys even kept the kitchen stocked with delicious homemade cakes and coffee! The bus uptown is literally out the front as is the beautiful Mount Morris Park. A truly beautiful building with stunning decor and such a cozy setting had us feeling very relaxed and at home. So close to Central Park and the museums, the location worked well for us. We will definitely stay there again when we return to NY : )

Called to check for a one night stay. Received rude talk from the person answering the phone. Was very excited about the room and location but completely disappointed by the treatment I got back.

Especially for only $120/night (plus the local taxes...)nCons: No microwave or fridge access in the apartment.nYou need to pay the remaining balance the first morning, in cash. (Kind of inconvenient.)nYou're in NYC, so yes, it's kind of small and old. And Harlem is just a little bit a sketchy area.nPros: Very friendly staff, easy to communicate.nClean and tidy. Classic look.nSUPER comfy bed! :)nProvided - Towels, shampoo/body wash, blow dryer, closet with hangersnInternet access (Not incredible, but fast enough to get work done, and also to stream a movie with only a couple of stalls..)nGreat location - CVS Pharmacy, restaurants (Harlem Shake -- yum!!), local little grocery store, subway/bus stations. Everything within a couple blocks. SUPER easy to get on transportation to pretty much whatever you're wanting to visit!

Beautiful bed and breakfast located in Harlem (North of Central Park on Manhattan for those who don't know NYC). The whole inside is very ornate. It reminded me of Downtain Abby. There is a large sitting area and dining area, as well as a kitchen where a continental breakfast is prepared by the owner every morning. The rooms have tall walls and large soft beds. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. I would recommend this place for anyone wishing to tour NYC.
