Liz and Michael go out of their way to make this a wonderful place to stay. They are so friendly and helpful. The inn is absolutely beautiful! It really is a gem in a world of quick hotels and motels. Tucked away in a town that is near the water and close to several other little towns it is a perfect place to stay. Liz and Michael are knowledgeable about the area and sure to send you in the right direction for great places to see. Also breakfast is wonderful. They are great cooks and provide a nice start to the day. This is a definite winning choice and I would recommend this Inn and stay here again.
What kind and genuine hosts! I was truly spoiled here with elegant, spacious rooms and delicious breakfasts. I consider this a safe place for the covid-cautious. It is very clean. The house is beautiful, and I enjoyed staying in to read as much as hiking around the coast or jumping in the lakes. Hosts are a very nice couple who went out of their way to accommodate me.
We took a mini-honeymoon to East Machias and absolutely loved our stay here! The owners were kind, thoughtful, and understanding of some last-minute schedule changes we had to make. The food was delicious, too. Bicyclists and walkers should check out the gorgeous trail to downtown Machias (and beyond). It was a magical discovery!
Absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone traveling through the area. Every detail was well taken care of and our time in the Talbot House Inn made this trip unique.
