Best Western Woodstock Inn

Great place to stay. Was pretty bummed out that there was no diet pop in the vending...none at all. Epic fail. But pretty much no other issues.

No juices or milk available for continental breakfast. It’s grab to go right now with Covid but the breakfast room was closed. Apparently you have to go to front desk and request it. Nothing was laid out or welcoming. I asked the front desk about breakfast and they said there’s only bananas, apples, yogurt... I thought I could at least get a juice. Other hotels I’ve stayed at in Illinois had individual juice/milk containers with other food options. Overall, Hotel is a bit dated and morning staff members don’t acknowledge you unless you stand in front of them. Night lady was very polite though and took time to talk about the weather and reason for traveling. Ohh and our bedroom window was open when we checked in at midnight. So we walked into a freezing room. It had just snowed and wind gusts were up to 45 mph. It’s 9 degrees outside this morning so I know last night was even colder.

We paid $140 for a $10 room lol. I would not recommend ever going here. Sleep in your car it has to be in better shape than this hotel

Loved our stay. Spacious room with king sized bed. Nice bathroom with a large shower. Staff were always helpful. We ate breakfast in their restaurant and it was delicious.

Honestly, we got what we paid for. We could not avoid this travel during the pandemic, so we had to drive across the country and had seen good reviews online. I will say upon check in the staff were friendly, they allowed us to check in 1.5 hours early, which I begged for after driving 15 hours to reach Woodstock. The restaurant on the corner is convenient and they're food is okay. However the hotel...trash. we had tons of bugs in the room, I would check your room for ticks and bedbugs, they had a LOT of people living in the hotel, cool. I understand times are tough, but the fighting through the walls was frightening and we had it outside on the way to and from the car to the point the hotel staff were watching the fighting. Dogs barking and that could be heard from sundown to sun up. We had asked for a king deluxe, which meant a king and a pull out bed in case our teenage son had to stay with us upon his family canceling due to covid. I said we would pay more, I just can't let a 15 yr old sleep alone in a hotel. The staff argued with me about providing bedding, more towels, toilet paper for our room. My husband and son slipped in the lobby as we were carrying luggage out, the staff said they put up a sign so we should be careful. Additionally, as we were leaving with a two year old, in the snow and moving our vehicle closer they came and banged on our door at 11am (check out time), pointing to their watch and telling us to pack up and go. I will never stay here again and with the photos and recordings I took we will be contacting the Best Western to report their hotel using the chain name. Really disappointed, but again...we got what we paid for.
