I had a gutter emergency late last month due to winter storm damage. John responded quickly to my my repair request and sent a team to my home that day. He and his team were quite professional, and John kept me apprised every step of the way, John also sent me before and after photos. He advised me of a roofing issue his team discovered, and he did not proceed with repairing it without my approval. I highly recommended Affordable Roofers and Masonry without hesitation.
I used them because my family gave them a good recommendation. So they're either good or they're horrible...take your chances. They added $2000 to the bill for 2 extra hours labor by their workers. I was a sucker and paid the balance of the contract when the work wasn't finished and the yard was left with debris. Shouldn't we be trusting people? Not with these guys. I have the contract. I have emails and texts from them saying they'd be out to finish the job and apologizing. They never called or showed up after several promises. I went to both of the addresses on their website to try to talk to someone in person and neither of the addresses is their roofing company. What's that all about? They aren't listed as being licensed on the IDFPR either. So now I have to sue them to hope to get some of my money back, since I still have to hire someone to finish the job. I see they have some really good reviews, which is what I got from my family, but for some reason they treated me very poorly like they did to others here.
John had his crew responded very quickly. They were very professional and courteous. They explained the problem very throughly and showed me before and after picture of the job . I would highly recommend them .
I am very dissapointed with the workmanship and profesionalism of this company. John responded quickly to provide scope of work and quote that I agreed to. From that point it did not go well! 3 different commitment dates to complete the work came and went with no communication. Scope of work: Remove old chimney flashing, tuckpoint chimney entire chimney, repair/replace chimney cap, replace chimney flashing, caulk, replace any damaged shingles, seal concrete and brick. Once they showed up - they tuckpointed top half of chimney, filled cracks in cap with same mortar, messily applied caulk over old flashing, and spray painted everything brown to make it look fresh. 2.25 hours of work for $1100! My fault for not stopping this job after the second NO show. Some photos of the workmanship below.... Just as a follow up I shared my dissatisfaction with John the next day and he said he would come back correct and finish the work promised.. that was 3 weeks ago :)
I have never worked with roofing contractors and Affordable Roofers was the first number I called based off their name. John Tan really did make it affordable for my family to have our home roof redone. He instantly recognized where our leak was coming in and worked with us to have a roof that will last 30 year. Even though we only paid for certain labors to be performed on the roof John allowed extra services to be done on the roof for little to no cost. His crew came in and finished majority of the work in one day to my surprise! Pleasure to work with them and hope to work with them for other housing projects when needed.
