Clark's Inn

The inn was great! My family booked a suite. It was large and offered plenty of room for the four of us. The space was clean and it was surprisingly quiet for being in such a populated area. It offered all the amenities. We were very comfortable. The staff was exceptional, especially the gentleman who worked the overnight counter. He was wonderful, I'm sorry I didn't get his name. We would definitely stay again.nnThe one negative was the host staff at the restaurant. The host staff was incredibly rude. We arrived approximately ten minutes before closing, we were hoping to get dessert to take back to our room. We were not greeted, but instead informed very gruffly that the kitchen was completely out of food. Each time I tried to explain that we were not looking to eat in the dining room, we were aware of the time, the woman would interrupt and say again how there was no food. We we're completely dismissed and turned away. I understand if there was a larger than expected crowd and menu items were no longer available but everything?? We were completely dismissed and in such an unprofessional manner. I was shocked at the manner in which we were treated. We were there last weekend on Saturday. This was a grown, middle aged woman, who in that role should more be professional.nI've eaten at the restaurant one time before, it was a pleasant experience, and also what helped in my decision to book a stay.nMy opinion would have been quite the opposite had I encountered this woman on my first experience with Clark's.

Great stop over if you're from the northeast traveling to FL, especially if you have a dog with you. It's right off the highway, beautiful, clean, and offers pet friendly rooms. Only drawback is that you can't check in past 10pm, so if you're delayed along the way you could potentially get stuck without a place to stay. That happened to us on our way down. All the other hotels in the area were sold out so we had to keep driving till we finally found a really dumpy travel lodge 60 miles south of Santee.

This place is ridiculously amazing! Wonderful staff, great atmosphere, food was crazy good! Wish we lived closer so we could go back again.

We were traveling and happened upon Clark's Inn. We had a great dinner and everyone was so wonderful and friendly. The person in the gift shop shared the history and the story of this family owned grand establishment.nThank you and for anyone in the area make it your choice for dinner or a special getaway destination.

The stay was fabulous; the room very clean and beds comfortable. Our dinner was very good and waiter, Tyler, was tops! We wish him well in his military career. We will come back.
