Stayed here about a month and love it! The little lake is beautiful, getting to drive by it all the time to get to our Rv site is wonderful. There are short trails to walk around and fishing available.nnThe sites are spacious with forest on one site and rolling hills on the other.
I try to leave honest reviews when needed. We are seasoned long term campers. We even have wonderful references from ALL previous places. We camp solely for my husband's employment, with only him being at the camper 5 days a week and occasionally weekends. When a job change lead us to Forest City we moved to this hay field. $350+electric for full hook up. We thought this would be ok. We didn't meet the owner when we moved in because he had, had surgery. His granddaughter took our money and that was it. A month later the BS started. Electric meters didn't work and they didn't read them or they forgot were just a few excuses we were given. I'm just going to charge you an approximate amount. Then it was well I want you to pay at the beginning of the month. (Honestly we were ok with that) But then he wanted charged us more than half the months rent for 2 weeks to get us to the first of then month and additional money for the power the was again not read on the meter and excessive to a typical power bill. We are accustomed to what the camper costs on power. This camper in GA on some of the most $$ power never had a bill over $80 in the dead heat of the summer. Same thing in Eastern NC and TN. This camper was running a bill up sitting empty 2 weeks with NOTHING on of over $130 a month. Then the rain started. The camper sank, there was no gravel in the lot or to park on. They asked for gravel and had a small amount dumped at each lot, it sucked into the mud within a matter of days. We opted to leave at first chance but took longer than anticipated because of the weather. In the meantime we got calls and complaints from the owner because he wanted rent almost immediately, most of the time while they were still at work. There was absolutely no benefits to the campground. If you took trash to the trash spot it sat for days so we started bringing it all home on weekends. No internet, cable, power was off way more than it was on and our camper spent a good time on our own generator. If you didn't have 4wd you weren't getting out. Let me also add our lot had a broken death trap porch left on the site that we couldn't do anything with except walk around. We left our site considerably cleaner than it was found, but there was still trash left from previous campers. Today being the last day of the month and good weather all of the group left for a new campground. The owner didn't like this. He came up with some BS # owed to him. Which was fine we would pay it, we aren't people out for trouble. This man went to his home switched vehicles, stalked us to the new campground. Pulled in behind us checking in. Started cussing and screaming that we had left and not paid, mind you we were paid in full minus electric for the month and meters hadn't been read. Attempted calling the cops on us and they told him it was a civil matter. (Truly there was no matter in the first place) He only accepts CASH and WILL NOT give a receipt for anything paid. He charged commercial power for residential power yet told us that he was good friends with someone at DUKE POWER that gave him a price break. When asked what KwH cost each month and his calculated usage, he couldn't provide us with anything. Even though we knew the cost of power (commercial and residential)and our calculated usage from reading our own meters. It was NEVER close to his figures. You couldn't argue with him. I wonder if he's even operating a legit business. There is no way I would ever put my camper here short or long term or deal with someone that unorganized.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone he won't fix the road going in its a muddy mess and he rips you off on electricity not a good place at all
This is a nice place we have been to several places but this one is the best
Nice family fun
