This place was not all bad so I’ll start with the positives:n1. The water pressure was goodn2. The pool looked clean and taken care ofn3. The employees were nicen4. It was cheapnnAnd that is all the positives.nnHowever, let me tell you a story. Once upon a time my my father in law made reservations for a room for my wife and I (as part of a family wedding) and he reserved a crib for our 17 month old daughter.nWe woke my daughter up at 4:30am in Virginia, flew to New Orleans, and drove to The Carmel Inn. When we arriving at around 2:30pm, the front desk informed us they didn’t have a crib for us because they had checked it out to someone else. They suggested a roll-away bed because apparently they have no idea how babies work and think they will not roll off of a bed.nI asked what kind of deal they would be giving us because of the inconvenience (our daughter was asleep in the car at the time and we went in separately of course) the woman at the front desk said she would talk to her manager, and they would call us.nThe “owner operator” Rhonda called us shortly after that. She never fully apologized for the inconvenience and refused to compensate us in any way. It turns out they had called the original number on our reservation (my father in law) and let him know and he, being also an extremely accommodating person said they would figure it out. This made it all alright for Rhonda. However, they had called THAT DAY. Rhonda claimed it was the morning but our family said it was more like 12:30. We were already flying there and would have had no chance to pack accordingly even if they had called us. Rhonda also tried to draw a distinction between us having found out at the front desk versus when we walked in our room because I said we found out “when we showed up.” She also suggested the rollaway bed (again, have they never seen a baby before?). Possibly the most comical part was when she said that they figured out the couple who had the crib had not checked out that morning so they called us when obviously they didn’t checkout if their reservation was for longer than that as though when people left was all happenstance and there would be no way of knowing in advance how long someone would be staying. Rhonda said we were already getting a discount because of the wedding so there was nothing else she could do. I clarified that she was the owner so she could do whatever she wanted but she was choosing not to which she confirmed. She did say she could give us a refund but at that point finding another place with no guarantees if they would have a crib either seemed harder than just buying something.nIt turns out the people who had the crib were family who were also there for the wedding and we all worked it out although they ended up spending money on something for their son to sleep on.nHowever, bottom line is DO NOT LET US RESERVE A PLACE FOR OUR BABY TO SLEEP AND THEN TELL US AFTER WE’VE ALREADY LEFT HOME THAT YOU DON’T HAVE IT AND THEN NOT APOLOGIZE AND NOT DOING EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO WORK IT OUT.nnAlso, most of the employees didn’t wear masks.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We've had to stay here a few times due to COVID closures, but this place is truly disgusting. The rooms are subpar at best. The sheets are not changed, the splitter system is not clean and does not cool efficiently, and the customer service is just as bad. If you're a local, they charge you a $250 deposit. Awful business practices and definitely not worth the money. Steer clear.

Don’t book here. Room smells nasty, you can tell it is very old. Doesn’t look like the pictures. I was told I could cancel since I booked on booking.com so I did and I booked a room elsewhere, then went to check out and was told I could not receive a refund so I paid for two hotels.nI did take a nap in the room since I had driven 9 hours to what I thought was a nice hotel. When speaking to the manager to try and get some understanding or compromise she immediately had an attitude upon answering the phone so I just accepted the loss. Would not recommend.

The housekeeper started cleaning out room while we were gone way before the check out time. Wasnt ok! Good thing we didn't have our personal items in the room but still what of they were? She shouldn't have entered our room till checkout time or when we would've checked out of our room!!!

Very old. Bathrooms were not in the best condition. Place smelled old. Rooms were small. Heard they were under new ownership and renovating! Wish I could have seen it. People were good. Great service!
