Small, clean room, TV, rec area inside. At checkout bring your bed linen with you. Cheap daily car park one block away. Eateries nearby.

Thank you to Julia, Eric, and all the staff for accommodating me on the last leg of an epic journey in my life. They taught me a valuable lesson. People have hearts, and even if my story is a little different from theirs we're all in this cosmic passion play together and I honor all of your roles in the story to be a good father, which I promised myself as a boy if I ever brought a child into this world.nnMy last six years has been a trying time. Now in this time of a new strain of virus that can affect our loved ones who are very young, and very old we all have to pitch in to remember that we all basically have the same needs. Virginia is for Lovers, and as I told Julia. We only have one word to describe the thing that drives us in so many aspects of our lives; yet the Eskimos have 200 words to describe snow.nnAs dear to my heart as my own son is to me, so are all of your loved ones dear to me. We should all use this time to show someone we love how much they mean to us. Thank you. Five stars!

Really impressed with this experience. The rooms and bathrooms were impeccably clean. Ambience was cool and the make your own breakfast was fantastic. I found myself wanting to just hang out at the hostel instead of exploring the city. The right balance of privacy and community. Will be looking for HI hostels on future travels

The HI Hostel has always been top notch. I stay here on solo weekends in one of the standard dorm rooms, but this time, I booked a private suite. Whenever people think of staying in a hostel, they tend to think negatively about them. However, I've found it's the exact opposite! The Richmond location is cleaner than a normal hotel room! Fresh sheets, ample room, and you're right in the heart of downtown. It's perfect for a visit to local restaurants, the local university or there convention center! The kitchen downstairs has ample supplies for DIY breakfasts and the game/lounge area is perfect for meeting tourists from around the globe. The front desk has local maps top give out and there are daily events like cooking classes and hikes along the river! Definitely worth checking out, and it's more affordable than a hotel room for WAYYYYY more value! =D

Stayed for two nights in a queen suite with an ensuite bathroom and loved it! The room was very clean upon arrival and most importantly so was the bathroom. The only issue I had was on the confirmation email, it listed that you could buy membership in the hostel and pay for just for the nights you stay, but was told on arrival that i had to get the yearly membership, which could only be bought online.
