Safeway Pharmacy

This pharmacy is probably the worst I've been to, and am switching immediately now that I've found a better, private one (Philomath Pharmacy). Your experience here will be entirely dependent on whoever's currently working the desk. It's sad, because there are some genuinely nice people who work here, but the slow, and inept outnumber the functional.nEvery other time I get my medicine here, there's some sort of problem which has me waiting for at least another three days, and having to call it in multiple times. They always fill the first prescription they've ever gotten, not the most up-to-date; every single time I've gotten a certain medication, one that HAS NOT CHANGED for at least a YEAR, they still give me the wrong quantity vs dosage, run out 30 days in advance, and tell me I'm basically out of luck since it's marked at too early to refill.nIf you need very time-sensitive injection-based ones, I can't stress enough how much you do not go here. Because of COVID, it's actually gotten a bit BETTER for needle-based medication, because the pharmacist themselves have to pre-package it for you, instead of a tech trying to count them out, let alone the right gauge.nGod forbid if a tech named Bambi's at the desk; you'll be in line for at least 40 minutes, she won't understand what you're asking, and always has to bother the poor overworked pharmacist for help with things that are a total non-issue. I honestly have no idea why Bambi is there, every time I'm there when she's working, there's at least five people in line.nI try to be as understanding and patient as possible, but I've been having these problems here for FOUR YEARS, which should really tell you something, when they can't get it right after that long.nIf you're able to, for the sake of your own health, do not go here. If you do, be prepared to call in and check on every medication at least twice, forever.

Have used this pharmacy for years. In the past, there were issues.... but in recent years they have been excellent. We get all our vaccinations here. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous.

Long wait times. Have had several prescriptions billed incorrectly over the years. Today they did not notify me upfront the way two new prescriptions were written resulted in a 32-33 day supply vs 30. As a result the insurance company charged me for two months, doubling the cost. Once I got home, I called them to discuss and requested they contact the insurance company to see if they’d accept the rounding or offer a refund if the unopened items were returned. Long story, I’ve had some good experiences but issues keep coming up which makes it difficult to be a promoter of Safeway pharmacy.

I have used this pharmacy for years and love the people who work there.nThey always try to help and do their best. I just spoke to Mike the Pharmacist who was very helpful. I admire their abilities and their knowledge of medications that is far above any other profession.

This place is sooooo slow and have no pharmacist for 30 minutes every day while they are at lunch. This should be covered by another pharmacist. Some people don't have any other time to pick up meds. Constant wait and they continuously forget to bill my son's secondary insurance which then adds MORE wait time. Some very nice staff and some very rude staff. Very frustrating and I am ready to switch to a different pharmacy.
