Stovepipe Wells

We stayed here for one night after a long day of exploring the Death Valley. We were so exhausted and super tired when we arrived so we were really grateful to have a double bed room for the four of us. When we came there was an announcement that there would be power cut due to the maintenance :).nnIt is a standard room with good bed and clean bathroom. Nice and decent and it has lovely mug that we finally decide to get on at its souvenir shop/general shop across the road. The shop is nice! We didn't get the chance to see the pool and we didn't take the breakfast as we were leaving early to see the Mezquita Sand dunes which is very close from here. Then we were heading to Grand Canyon. That is why we left so early.nnIn general, it's a good place to take a rest when you are planing to explore the Death Valley and surroundings

They have an impressive variety of alcohol for a bar in the middle of Death Valley.

Josh was an absolute legend. When I was locked out of my car he got in touch with NPS through some sort of buddy of his and sorted it so they would get me back into my car. In the mean time, his colleague Matt very kindly offered me usage of the pool - which was a nice relief for a stranded traveller in the 117° sun! I didn't stay at the hotel, but I'm sure if I had I would've had the most wonderful experience - very impressed!

Nice hotel with pleasant rooms, the pool is almost a necessity in this climatic zone and especially refreshing.

We had a car breakdown very close and then to the hotel, actually only wanted to call. After that did not work has Brandon, the hotel manager, with his private mobile phone and talked to the car service and given us a hotel room. He hung around for hours on hold and talked to all the people. Without him we would have been really upset!
