The Lodge at Red River

Rooms are very nice and clean. We stayed in a room with 2 beds. The beds are in separate bedrooms which are connected by a small hallway. Our first night was great, the bed was not too bad we felt well rested. All of that changed the second night. A family with 3 kids made it impossible to sleep. The kids would be up by 6 a.m. and the walls are so thin you can hear everything! Even worse if they're running up and down the hall, almost felt like an earthquake. I know the lodge is not responsible for inconsiderate guests, but they should put some signs up to point out the fact that the walls are thin and that there are other guests at the lodge.

I have only stayed one other place in red river years ago, so I decided on this one this time because the reviews weren’t that bad and most if not all of the town was booked for the dates we wanted. First off, The outside of the building is definitely dated and could use some repairs and paint, but I can look past that.. The people at the front were nice and polite, and got us our room/keys quickly without any hassle. (We took note from previous reviews that said not to try to check in before 4pm) The room upon walk in was very small, cramped and hot but was clean. The bathroom was tiny also, but it was clean as well. Going on through the night the room got hotter, as the 2 fans in there didn’t do much (muggy since it rained) and since there’s no ac in the building it made it very hard to go to sleep. Combine that with the fact that the hotel is right next to a live band bar, was a disaster. They played till 130am! Some other issues would be the rock hard bed, super scratchy towels and the extremely dim bathroom light. We were so uncomfortable with the heat in the room (and the damn bar right next door) that we decided to only stay one night instead of the 2 we paid for. They are adamant about no refunds (they actually have it posted everywhere). I would not recommend this place to anyone, stay somewhere else!

Staff friendly and attentive to your needs and concerns. Rustic, clean and comfortable. Mattresses firm and very comfortable. Quiet and beautiful views of mountains that surround Red River. Would stay again next year.

We stayed here for a quick weekend the last weekend in July. The rooms have no air conditioning so we had to open the windows and screen door. Thank goodness we had a corner room. The people staying in the inside room had to sleep with their door open with a box fan on their door. The bar across the way had people talking loudly until they closed which made it hard to sleep at first with the patio door and windows open. The rooms were very clean and bed was very comfy. Bring a power strip for extra outlets as the room has very limited outlets. It's ok for the price but not sure I would recommend.

Tiny rooms, very tiny bathroom. Most uncomfortable beds as I have ever laid down on. Parking? Extremely limited right on the street. If staying in Red river I definitely recommend you seek out other accomodations. Will not be staying here again. Thankfully it's only for one night.
