We were on our way back to Oregon and near the end of a 4,000 mile trip where most of the places we stayed were, um, not all that good. This place however was exceptional. Immaculate entry into the hotel and the room was even better. Spotless would be an understatement and there wasn't a thing we could have asked for to make it better. We stayed at only Wyndham places and the Super 8's and Days Inn's we stayed at were well on the way to ensuring we tried another chain if/when we travel again. This place (and The Baymont in Oklahoma City) proved to us that Wyndham does have a couple quality places at very reasonable prices..
Yikes! Mold in the bathrooms. Bugs in the beds. Rooms smell like animals. Stale breakfast. Young kids (6-7 years old) cleaning rooms. Pool water made our skin hurt. We didn't feel safe here because the locks don't work. Find somewhere else to stay.
Great Value and Service during this crazy times. Thank you for making our stay safe. Everything was clean and sanitized
My wife and I have been staying at a La Quinta since last Wednesday, August 12th. Our circumstances are somewhat unique in that we moved to Logan for new jobs and are staying in a hotel while we await construction to finish on our house. We have pets, and have stayed at a La Quinta before, so we felt comfortable staying here given that our options were limited. We also are staying here for an extended time, as we needed to be here to start our jobs, and we have two weeks until our home is ready for us to move in.
Thus far, our stay at La Quinta has been less than relaxing and instead has been pretty miserable.
Our stay here got off to a weird start as I was confronted by a staff person for "propping a door open" while I was unloading our car when we arrived. I had not propped the door open. When I let the staff person know that I had not propped the door open, they replied, "Well, okay, I'm just letting you know." I'm not sure why I was accused of doing this, but we have noticed there is a group staying here that will use rugs to prop the door open and go in and out to hang out and smoke in the parking lot. We've even observed them leaning against our cars while they smoke and hang out. Again, I am unsure why I was accused of this, and why the staff person did not say anything to the group that was quite clearly coming in and out of the hotel.
Since being here, the aforementioned group and others have been incredibly loud. We have heard music, running and loud footsteps, and even what sounded like vacuuming (or some other machinery) at all hours of the night. All of these things have occurred not only throughout the day, but even late at night. And last night, in a really strange and stressful turn of events, we had not one, but three different individuals knock on our door looking for someone or something. The knocking took place between 10:45pm and 6am and we were woken up all three times. I am not sure if the individuals were intoxicated, confused, lost, or something more nefarious, but it was certainly uncomfortable and inconvenient. In coping with the volume and random people knocking on our door, our stay has been loud and uncomfortable.
Lastly, the shower in our room does not have any markings left on it (it looks very old) and there is virtually no way to know how to adjust the temperature. The temperature of our shower has either been ice cold or boiling hot, and that is not a joke or exaggeration. We have elected not to report it, as we felt we could adjust for a few days before we switch rooms, but it has made our already uncomfortable stay less comfortable.
Our stay here thus far has been loud, weird, and uncomfortable. What is most unfortunate is that with pets and needing a long term stay so we can start our jobs, our options are limited. In the future, when we have more choices and options, and are not constrained due to circumstance, we will not be staying at La Quinta again. I will go so far as to not recommend La Quinta in Logan to others given what we have experienced thus far. I am hopeful the rest of our stay becomes somewhat more bearable.
This motel cancelled my reservation that I had booked over a year ago and offered the transfer me to another motel in Brigham City Utah 26 miles from Logan. The reservation was cancelled two days prior to my stay, severely complicating my travel and stay plans in Logan. I had confirmed the reservation in April and received a confirmation email then and I called the motel 3 days before the stay to again confirm the reservation. There was no problem and again the reservation was confirmed. The excuse used was construction issues on the motel. I was told reservations were cancelled in the order received, but I seriously doubt and believe this to be a lie since my reservation was made 1 year prior to stay date. There was no offer of compensation for this inconvenience other than the rebooking of hotel 26 miles away at full rate. I will never grace the door of this establishment again in my life. I have been a faithful patron for 16 years and since the establishment went from Crystal Inn to LAQuinta the service and quality has been declining. Shame on you LAQuinta. 0 out of 5.
