Sherman Inn

Stayed at Sherman for three nights, it was our first experience at a BnB and it was way more than we expected! The rooms were spacious and comfortable, each had its own piece of history in it with former presidents that had visited (had no idea about all of the history so it was very nice when Jim walked us through it all). The breakfast was amazing every morning, they always had coffee and orange juice waiting when we came downstairs which was a great start to the morning. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the owners. They were always attentive to us and asking if we need anything. I am not sure when we will visit the town again, but this is certainly where we will go when we do.

Absolutely AMAZING. Such a charming place to stay. The owners are so inviting & it’s even entertaining hearing all the cool facts & history about the area from them. LOVE the library, so quaint & cozy. My bf & I came in December so we loved the Christmas decorations but even on a regular day, the place is interesting knowing it was once the owners elementary school & seeing the little details connecting it. Very clean, & beautifully decorated. Rooms tremendously spacious. Definitely don’t expect it looking from the outside, in. Will definitely be back.

Clean, quiet, and thoughtfully (and cleverly) decorated! The beds are comfortable, the suites are spacious, and the breakfast is delicious. A must-stay if you are passing through Ogdensburg and/or following the Great Lakes Seaway Trail.

We were able to book a room one evening last minute. I was SO impressed with how nice and roomy the rooms were (the beds are SO comfy - it was hard getting out of bed in the morning!), how delicious breakfast was, and how accommodating the owners were!nnThere's a kitchen available, complete with a Keurig and coffee pods. The place was very clean and the owners were conscious about COVID, so different parties dining in the (large) dining area are seated far apart from one another.nnI'm in the area every year or so to visit family, so I know we'll be returning to the Inn for sure!

From the moment we got to Ogdensburg, Jim and Donna made sure to take care of us and treated us just like family. When we got there on Sunday, we didn't know the taxi companies were going to be closed. After calling multiple places to no avail, we decided to finally call the Sherman Inn. Within 5 minutes, Donna came to pick us up.nnThe Inn itself is an old school that was converted to a bed and breakfast, and honestly, it was the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. Our flight kept getting canceled for different reasons, and each time it did, Jim and Donna came to pick us up and took us in. And honestly, my mother and I weren't even that upset about our flight being canceled because we were so excited to stay here! We had the opportunity to stay in different rooms each night (three nights), and each room was so wonderful and special in it's own way. Donna really decorates the place in a way that makes it feel so welcoming and warm. And her breakfast in the morning is absolutely delicious!nnIf you're making a trip to Ogdensburg, I highly highly highly recommend staying here. The rooms are beautiful and the people are just wonderful. I have never experienced such amazing hospitality anywhere else, and I can't wait to go back there!
