Grand Colonial Bed and Breakfast

Would highly recommend a short or extended stay at the Grand Colonial B&B, as Mike and his staff went above and beyond to make a wintertime, mid-pandemic 3-week stay extremely safe, clean, and decadently comfortable—complete with hearty and delicious home-cooked breakfasts from an ample menu in a covid-safe environment each morning. The close proximity to natural and historical sites was a huge plus for this guest, and Mike had a terrific knowledge of the area to share. An underrated gem of an establishment in the gorgeous Mohawk River Valley with exceptionally generous bang for your buck

We just stayed here for the first time, and are already planning to come back! The home is very beautiful and peaceful. The dog, Brick, is amazing and lovable. The owner is so welcoming and kind, and makes awesome food. We loved the decor, style, and Halloween touches too! If you need a peaceful getaway, check this place out. Also... try the hot chocolate (and pet the dog)! We can’t wait to return!

Extremely lovely Bed and Breakfast nestled in Herkimer! Definitely recommend.nn- Attentive staff - a bellman came out when we arrived to take our bags, without us even having to announce ourselves!n- Kind staff who worked with my unusual check-in timen- Extremely clean rooms and setting, the rooms are as gorgeous as the pictures look on their websiten- Mike is very fastidious with COVID-19 compliance, so it felt very safe! Especially with mask-wearing and sanitizationn- Their dog, Brick, is so cute!n- Best part is definitely breakfast: You can order as much as you want and they have all the staples: eggs any way you like, bacon, sausage, waffles, french toast, pancakes, fruit, even a homemade pastry. (The hot honey scones were delicious). The large portions are very appreciated.nThey also have some great unique toppings such as honey mead jelly!n- Finally, check out was very easy and they even mailed us something we forgot in our room!nOverall a lovely experience and great service! We would love to return if visiting the area.

So incredibly happy I found this place. This was by far the most comfortable place I have stayed in. Between the temperature of the room (and the ability to change it), the great breakfast, robe, etc made us feel special. It was quiet and perfect. Everything from social distancing rules to use of TV was explained thoroughly. The owner was flexible and readily available. I would definitely recommend and plan on revisiting when I am back in this area.
