Red Roof Inn & Suites Herkimer

Decent room for a couple 117. Paper think walls(you hear everything.... everything). Was disappointed that the shower and baths cold water came out like a dribble. We only stayed for the weekend so didn't feel the need to switch rooms. Staff was very nice during check in and out. Super convenient that Dennys is literally next door(walking distance).

The first room i had smelled like 12 people were chain smoking in it and it had an ant problem. The 2nd replacement room was super nice. The staff is what you would expect for a mediocre motel. There were shady people yelling at 5:30 in the morning in the parking lot and the walls are thin. But the place is very cheap for an overnight stay.

Nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Nothing special - needs a bit of modernization, but serves it's pourpse as a quick layover nicely enough.

The floors and bathtub are very cold, but it is early spring. Outlets and lamp on the nightstand didn't work. Considerable litter and butts on grounds. Outside security camera was gone, wires hanging. Room was ok.

There aren't many choices in the area and for the most part this hotel offers good accommodations at a reasonable price. The staff at the desk were all very helpful from checking in, getting the TV to work in our room, morning bagged breakfast and having things fairly clean. Only a couple of issues we had you can see from attached photos. The window behind the curtain which did not open had not been cleaned in awhile as there were large cobwebs. Also in the bathroom for whatever reason the toilet paper holder was affixed to the wall up behind your right shoulder - not sure who thought that was a convenient place to put that so we never had a roll on as you'd have to be a contortionist to get to it! BUT aside for those small things I would still recommend this place to anyone staying in the area!
