TMax -n- Topo's Hostel

Great hostel, amazing vibes, hiker's favorite. Overall David, the owner, is a wonderful person. Everyone felt at ease and at home at this hostel. I have stayed in several, there are many hostels with similar or maybe better facility, but what sets this hostel apart is the personal touch David and his wife have given to this place. Felt comfortable at the end of day after a tiring hike. Highly recommended.

NOT ACCOMMODATINGnnBooked a room (during COVID) and when we got there we discovered no one had masks on and we would have to sleep in the same room as strangers (normally not a problemnbut COVID). My partner was not comfortable with this so we bailed and asked for a refund. No refund but they said we could use our nights some other time. That was nice I thought. A few months later I message and say we are coming down we would like to use one of our night. “You had weekday nights you can’t use them on a Friday”. We had four nights worth of credit. I proposed I would be happy to trade FOUR nights of credit for one Friday. Same story and he also threw in this “Also, all winter weekends are a two-night minimum.”nnLook I know I’m asking you to bend policy but it would not be that hard to accommodate us. And now they’ve lost a customer.

Very cozy, super clean, warm and comfortable beds, was surprised by kitchen facilities. Reasonable Covid safety.nHad a nice chat with the owner who instead of complaining about the expense, seemed happy that the new air filters installed to counter Covid, were also good for flu viruses. You can tell the owners put a lot of love into their business.

Can not say more than this is the place to be in LP area. Dave is an amazing creature, a pandora's box of ADK information. Place is super clean yet cozy at the same time. Plenty of opportunity to get trail insight from fellow guests as well.

Very thought out and welcoming space.
