Spruce Lodge Bed and Breakfast

I stayed here about five years ago. The room was basic but large. Breakfast was pretty lousy, just cereal and toast. I was expecting a charming B and B, but I didn't find this place charming. Proprietor was nice enough. No A/C and it was hot as blazes. I can't say I would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed in the apartment this weekend 10/25/19-10/27/19. Very nice accommodations. Bed was comfortable and the apartment was very cozy. The owners were very friendly and nice to deal with. We will definitely be back.

This is truly a B&B, no commercialism. We stayed in the main house(sleigh room). We weren’t sure what to expect. It was like stepping back in time and walking into my parents house. Very comforting and homey. Breakfast was simple but the breads were delicious! Cereal, toast, mini bagels, coffee and juice, you know, like at home. It’s just a short drive to the village. The owner was kind enough to share stories of the rich history of this old house and of Lake Placid. It was a great experience, we’ll go back.nTim and Moe

Great location outside town. Homey feel. Other guests were friendly. Breakfast was adequate. Could use some updating in common area's and guest room.

Decent for the price. Decided to stay here with my husband after a long day of hiking. Not the best B&B but also not the worst; bottom line- you get what you pay fornnPros:n•continental breakfast in the morningn•cozy room with old fashioned decorn•hot showersnnCons:n•for my room, You had to walk out into the hallway in order to use the bathroomn•the pillows aren’t great. They fall flat as soon as you lay on them (glad I brought my own)n•room was a little too warm for my liking. There was a ceiling fan that you could turn on, but no temperature controln•door frame didn’t quite match up with the door which caused light from the hallway to leak in
