Our stay at Pine Gables Log Cabins was amazing! Check in was easy, and the hosts left very thorough instructions for all of the amenities within the space. We absolutely loved listening to the night sounds in the hot tub, and our dogs enjoyed watching the wildlife from the entirely fenced in screen porch. Robin and Jim have a wonderful space, and we hope to return in the future! Incredible value for what you have access to.

Amazing place for a relaxing weekend! Location is perfect, near everything around Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village. The cabin was well maintained, clean and check in is so easy and convenient. The property is truly amazing, lake access, several ponds and sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch is good for the soul. I highly recommend staying here if you have the chance.

Booked online. Received a confirmation email. Arrived at the property only to be told they had no vacancy. Call ahead to confirm your reservation because these folks obviously have issues with bookings and reservations.nnOffered no help after turning us away at 8pm, even though we had our confirmation email in hand. Don’t expect any small town mountain hospitality.

Daniel Howard’s review summed up the cabin very well. We stayed in the fishing cabin and it did give a feel of seclusion. I enjoyed rocking on the porch and listening to the rain and bull frog in the fishing pond.nnWe stayed week July 20 Mon-Thur. It worked out extremely well. We planned on spending the day (Tuesday) hiking the trails at Chimney Rock State Park. Fit bit logged 183 flights of stairs that day. All the trails were nice. Like clockwork everyday thunderstorms brewed around 3:30pm. Sitting on the porch listening to the rain and preparing dinner was pure enjoyment.nnWednesday, we went to the Chimney Rock Rumbling Bald area (just over ¾ mile further down Boys Camp road) and we hiked the short trail there. I suggest counterclockwise as it was easier on the knees going up the rock stairs. After the hike we went to the Flowering Bridge and walked over to the Washburn Marina to see about a lake tour and renting a pontoon boat. They were sold out by the time we got there. If you are planning on renting a boat or taking a lake tour, I suggest going first thing in the morning to secure a time slot. They did manage to slip us in for the 3p tour but… Lightning canceled it before we got out of the Marina. We were able to reschedule for the Thursday 11 am tour.nnAfter the storm cleared, we were able to take advantage of the Canoes that are provided at the cabins. This was very enjoyable and appreciated to have a way to go look around the lake. We canoed out to the main lake and canoed up river and went under the Flowering bridge.nnThe owners are very serious of the COVID-19 problem. They keep a day open between visitors to allow sanitation to take more effect and you literally do not have to interact with anyone to get in the cabin. They inform you of the lock box code that has the key for the cabin.nnCell service can be spotty there and the WIFI worked well from our cabin. There is a small building that has a book library and a land line phone for guests to use. This came in handy when a power outage temporally took out the WIFI and I needed to check in on my parents.nnAll in all, we had an excellent time.

First I will say that we really enjoyed our stay at Pine Gables. The cabin was quiet & cozy and the screened in porch with the hot tub was so relaxing!nBut there were several minor things that were disappointing due to the cost we paid for cleaning. Here are a few things that we found in our cabin...lots of dust on the bedroom walls (stuck to the wood walls), throw blankets on the couch covered in dog hair (so I had to wash them before we used them), extreme dust on couch rails, blanket from the bed was still in dryer when we arrived, the stove only worked on the broil setting so we had to use the grill, holes in screened in porch door, cookie sheet was old & nasty , and hair in the shower. They also asked us to recycle but the bins were overflowing.nIf it would have been cleaner I would recommend this place but for the cost I can't say it was worth it sadly. And when I contacted the owners they didn't respond.
