Fairfield Inn by Marriott Charlotte Gastonia

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Fairly priced for a hotel that is rated at four stars. Staff were very hospitable and friendly. Will definitely stay again in the future.

We stayed at this same hotel chain in Western NY, Cortland, and it was exceptional. And I'm a Bon Voy member. We got to this one and the room was disgusting. The toilet had fecal stains that were recent (sorry to be gross) there was hair in the sink, the floor hadn't been vacuumed. The one we stayed at in NY was so clean, the TV remote was shrink wrapped! This one was the complete opposite. I went to talk to the manager and he deflected blame to housekeeping and put us in a different room. The second room was worse. We walked in and could've gotten a contact high from the fumes. Someone had tried to cover the weed smell by burning incense on the window sill because the ashes were still there! So either the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned between guests or housekeeping uses incense as a masking agent? The smell was so strong that we couldn't stay there. Back down to the front desk. I tell the manager the issue and he's going to now comp us a few days and move us yet again. He gave me the newest room keys to the 3rd room and says he's going to walk us to the room this time ...as soon as he's done taking care of the guest behind me in line.....who was complaining about the cleanliness of HER room! I told him I'd meet him up there. He had previously told me they were completely booked, there were things going on in town so I was scared to cancel the reservation before I knew we could find another room somewhere else. My sister and her family were already at the restaurant we were to meet them at for dinner...it was a little chaotic. By the time I got back up to the 2nd room to wait for the manager, my boyfriend had found us another room in a different hotel and booked it so we left. What a disappointment for a Marriott.

Room was smaller than expected front desk customer service communication was impeccable but as for other services don't bother impossible to get anything done and pool is supposed to be open till 8pm unless janiter wants to leave early and they shut it down at 6:30pm and the pool is the whole reason I reserved rm for my family

Indoor swimming pool !! Nice, clean rooms along with competitive. Rates makes it a good hotel for me, I definitely recommend it
