Comfort Inn Research Triangle Park

Not really sure where to start... there were 2 surprising good points, mixed in with the rest.nApparently there are no accessible rooms on the 1st floor, and we were stuck up on the 3rd. Given the logistics of a small elevator barely big enough for a wheelchair, let alone the luggage cart, I wasn't too happy. The desk clerk, however, went out of his way to bring a cart to my van (which I loaded), and then follow me up to the room (great point number one).nThe room itself was a bit narrow... difficult to get wheelchair to other side without pulling on bed linens. But the beds were comfortable.nThe bathroom, however, left a LOT to be desired. We were confirmed to have a roll-in shower. It wasn't. It did not even have adjustable shower head. There was something in the middle of the bathtub... still not sure what. There was dirt and mildew in the corners of the tub, and dirt in corners of floor. Also, Apparently the last guest had short bla k hair, and housekeeping did not sweep before mopping. There were short black hairs stuck to the floor by the tub, the commode, the wall, and on one vertical tile at the bottom of the wall.nThe plumbing under the sink had no protection... a child, or someone in a wheelchair, could get burned if hot water was going through pipes. I do not know about NC, but in other states this is against building code.nFinally, for whatever reason, the bathroom sprinkler was covered. Pretty sure that's a violation of fire codes.nWhen we were ready to check out, I called the desk for help with a cart. They sent up a maintenance man who loaded the cart, and brought it downstairs (great surprise #2).nIn summary, the people who worked there were great. All of them friendly and helpful. The cleanliness and safety of the room, not so great.

Well run hotel that is ideally located in The Triangle. Clean, comfortable, and hospitable with spacious rooms with high quality furnishings and amenities. Highly recommended.

THE hotel is very run down.. needs some upgrades but Very friendly staff. Our room was clean. Breakfast was terrible due to COVID restrictions. I was glad I had a sleep app on my phone. Interstate sounds were loud. Also ended up with a flat tire in the parking lot. We would stay there again though...

I was pleasantly surprised that the room was clean and in good repair - not dirty and run down as I had experienced at this location 2 years ago. I had said then that I would never stay there again, but because of a special discount opportunity, I decided to give it another chance, hoping that Covid requirements might have brought change. Whether it was because of Covid or new management, I don't know, but the room was clean and nice.

Not the best choice. Room had stale smoke smell covered with heavy air freshener scent. Hallway in the morning was sour smelling. Needs a true deep clean and maintenance. Electrical outlets were worn out. Phone charger just fell out of the wall.
