The room smelled like an old attic. We was also greeted by some friendly cockroaches. That was fun. The heat didnt work well and it kept making a weird ticking noise that kept us up all night. We hit the road super early the next next morning just to get outta that place. My favorite part was when my bank contacted me about suspicious activity on my debit card that happened early that morning. Mind you, I checked out early and that's the only place I've used my card. Definitely suspicious about them but luckily my bank caught them and blocked the card
DO NOT STAY AT THIS ROACH MOTEL!!!! You have been warned. Door locks aren't secure, it's filthy, noisy, unsafe. I was worried about my car even. Plugs don't work, stains on walls, holes punched in walls and bathroom doors. Super disappointment. West Virginia Redroof puts this to shame.
When I got into the room, first thing I noticed were the sheets did not look clean. Then after a minute of looking, the remote was missing, along with the iron, neither were too big of a deal, but for people staying there multiple nights I can imagine the frustration. Now to the worst part, I went into the bathroom and after I flipped the switch I noticed dried up blood all over the switch and upon further investigation, there was also dried blood on the shower curtain and somehow on/inside the shower head. So I look around more, turns out there was more dried blood on the light switch by the rooms door when you first come in.... Did they give me the murder room?
Checked in around 3p was checked out around 7:45p same day. Let me say that I was already out of my comfort zone stopping here. Manager at front desk was pretty nice no issue with him. I checked into my room and the first thing I notice was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, I keep Clorox with me so I just sprayed those area’s because I knew I’d only be there for one night. I then proceed to sit in the desk chair and about an hr later I see a roach come out from under the refrigerator. Couple minutes later all hell broke loose and they started running from everywhere except the bed. Like other reviews, there was also one towel, one wash cloth, and one hand towel. Air was kicking pretty good. But there’s no way I’d every step foot in this hotel again. Manager wasn’t there when I checked out so we’ll see if I’m able to get a refund in the am.
We were first not sure about this hotel. We came to meet our family in Durham. Steve at front desk took care of our room issues. Highly recommend due to clean room and staff was amazing. We always treated with smile. Better rate compare to the area hotels. Quiet environment
