Hilton Garden Inn Durham Southpoint

We were staying for 4 days. So clean and such a friendly staff. In the morning you can get continental breakfast freshly cooked just for you. Great place to relax. Pool and gym working 24 hours. Nothing but Great feelings after staying. Thank you.

The problems I had was the light as soon as you open our room door flickering. The rooms could be bigger for the price. Small indoor swimming pool. The handicapped lift to get into the pool did not work, so our son who is 14 had to crawl down the steps on his hands and knees to get into and out of the pool with our help. He scratched his knees up, so thank you so much. We felt so welcome, NOT.

My husband and I booked a 3 night stay because we were coming to Durham to receive our second dose of the COVID 19 vaccine. We live 3 hours away and didn’t know how we would feel after our shots. We had stayed here many times previously since our daughter used to live in Durham. We always ranked it 5 stars. However, this experience was very different. The beds and pillows are broken down and need to be replaced. The indoor pool is freezing! We were asked to fill out a breakfast order and turn it in the night before telling the chef what time we would pick it up. We had to wait quite some time as he hadn’t even started making it by the time we were supposed to pick it up. We also were asked what time we wanted our room cleaned. We picked between 10:30 and 1:30 since we knew we would want to rest after our shots. Someone showed up at 3:30. We decided to forgo having the room cleaned the rest of our stay. On our last day, a man showed up around 1:00 asking why we had not left. We explained we were booked for another night. My husband had to go down to the front desk to straighten things out. Rather than telling him she would contact Hilton, the lady at the front desk made him feel like he was pulling a scam. (We used 2 free weekend nights since he is a Diamond member and we haven’t been traveling during the pandemic. We had given our credit card when we checked in to pay for Thursday night.) All we wanted was a comfortable stay near restaurants and shops if we were feeling up to shopping after our shots. I know things have changed because of COVID 19, but this was not the Hilton service we are used to.

Not as nice as the pictures but really nice service and well they have a pool so that was fun

While their fairly basic hotel amenities have them a little pricier then I would like, it's hard to go wrong when you have a Ruth's Chris built right into the same complex. The location being a stone's throw from Southpoint sort of makes up for what you pay.
