This place is very clean and the service is excellent. Loved all the people who worked here. Mary was super sweet. If I wasn't married I'd have flirted with her.nRooms were clean and comfortable. If you are looking for super fancy it's not, but if you want clean comfortable friendly folks with a down home feel this is a great spot. Location is within walking distance to restaurants, bars , and park.
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and accommodating. The Inn is clean and even though it is an old building much has been renovated to stay true to its roots but with updated amenities. And a lovely porch, well 2 porches, on which to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather. Then you can walk to any of several restaurants and the waterfront park. We cannot imagine staying anywhere else !
Mary and Mike were great hosts! They made us feel like family from the moment we walked through the door. They took care of everything for us and Mary even gave us some great advice on the ferry to Cumberland Island, where to go for dinner and evening entertainment (nice wine bar just down the street). The house was beautiful as was our room. Breakfast was delicious. We really came to St Mary just to take the ferry to Cumberland Island but we found we really enjoyed the small community with it's restaurants and shops and of course, Spencer House. We will definitely be back!
Mary the owner was so welcoming and very helpful. My room was super cozy, the inn was decorated beautifully for Christmas, and breakfast was fabulous. It’s location right in downtown St. Mary’s is so convenient and the St Mary’s River is right there! Incredible.
This was a wonderful experience staying at the Spencer. The service is above and beyond and you get to talk to the staff and owners like friends. They do everything to accommodate your needs and are just amazing. The house is in the most convenient part of town where you can walk anywhere. It is a quaint area that I definitely plan to return.
