Nice little hotel! Lots of amenities. We didn't have time to go to the pool, but we really enjoyed the breakfast, which was something between continental and a full hot breakfast. They had a machine that makes fresh pancakes for you! The bed was comfortable, we enjoyed the cable tv and we had motorized shades, which were cool.
Clean, spacious room. All amenities incl. Huge TV very nice! One of the best HIE I've stayed at.
The room itself was fine. We arrived and our intended room wasn't ready and the system was down. The front desk person, Debbie was very sorry and kind. We ended up having to take the only other room like the one we reserved which was next to a woman with about 5 small children, and a dog was nearby. We got to listen to crying kids, dog barked a few times at night and the person who got the room we had booked walked like Bigfoot, stomping across the floor. We went for a quiet, romantic 2 nights. So much for that. It cost us $250+ for this. They also put a second pending charge on my card holding up another $250+ until it drops off. No more Holiday Inn for us. Oh, the beds are comfortable though. I feel like we wasted a lot of money for nothing. :( Completely disappointed.
The customer service is quite possibly the worst of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff is unprofessional and the manager is a joke. My room reeked of smoke and I was checked out after one night even though I had booked two. I didn’t even bother trying them to get them to fix their error because it was like trying to get a question answered in Walmart. If you’re visiting Tappahannock then keep trucking because this Holiday inn is the worst.
Sent me to a dirty room and then offered me a free upgrade on my next stay for the inconvenience. I'll pass thanks. All I could think about was Covid and other germs. If you can't keep a standard room clean why would I come back to try the upgraded one. You got my money this time but won't get it again. I would rather sleep in my car
