Pleasant View Inn

It was nice to come back to PVI after many years. It was sad to see a lot of the beach, directly in back of the hotel, gone due to erosion. At high tide there is no beach to sit on. I'm glad some beach still exists right next to the hotel. It looks to be a section of town beach. Overall the rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. There was a fridge but no microwave or coffee maker.  I could not find a cup of coffee anywhere till the restaurant opened for lunch. Breakfast no longer served and being after labor day there was not much open.   The common areas look like they have been thru a war. The metal railings are rusted and can use a painting. Some broken lights.  A little TLC in these areas would make a world of difference.  I saw some mold as well.  I think a hotel like this that is so close to the water with high humidity should lose the carpeting and stick with a vinyl flooring. You can replace sections of it as needed and it doesn't collect mold and moisture. These days vinyl can  look stylish and is easy to keep clean.   Being directly on the beach is awesome. You can hear the roar of the ocean all night. I like to star watch but the hotel  has these big parking lot style lights that are on the sides of the building throughout. It really takes away from looking at the stars and enjoying the ambiance. Simple walkway lighting and other indirect lighting would do wonders to improve the night ambiance on this property instead of feeling like you are in a Walmart parking lot.   The wait staff and the front desk were very friendly and nice.  Most of the guests seemed to be locals. No snootiness like over in Watch Hill.    PS If you have any mobility issues this is not he place for you. They are a lot of stairs and no elevator. The place is definitely not handicap accessible given its age.

The location is incredible!! Walk across a tiny street and your on the beach !! Walk a few steps to restaurants, stores, and a few blocks away from entertainment. It’s a no frills hotel, but very clean and quiet. The staff is personable, respectful, and helpful. They hire their own security to walk around the property to ensure safety for your property and self. I had a one bedroom place that was very spacious. This place is an excellent deal for your dollar. It is family owned and operated. The owner cares about her patrons and it shows. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.I will definitely be back to vacation at this place.

We just stayed three nights and it was great. You can't beat being right on the beach. The views are spectacular. We spent every day, morning to evening relaxing on the beach. We had a pool view room which was nice although we never used it. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We bought food from the restaurant just once and it was very good.nThe one and only negative thing I have to point out is that the restaurant isn't open for breakfast. I'm a coffee addict and need it as soon as I get up. There are some little restaurants on the street that are in walking distance. Mermaid has the best coffee and breakfast sandwiches.

We love this places location. It has a great pool. Right on the beach. Great views. Their prices are way too high for a 3 star hotel, but we get why they think they can get it at the pandemic time. And probably do get it. Hopefully post pandemic the price comes back down to meet 3 star pricing. $350 is Omnia and Hyatt pricing. This is neither. I'll give 5 stars when pricing fits what you receive but the location and the hotel look wonderful.

amazing location, the view couldn't be better. Staff was helpful, restaurant was great! The room was comfortable. But it's location and staff made the stay so worth it
