They were amazing! My friend had a breakdown in the middle of Central Park and John came with his tools and quickly and expertly repaired her bike, unjamming, then fixing the chain, so we could bike again, none the worse for wear.

They are never on time, this is the third time this has happened to me at this shop. I ask them a time and they’re always taking double the time. I had purchased online a new bike seat but when I tried to install it myself the bike seat pole slide down the frame of the bike so I decided to take it to this shop to get it out and to install a new one. They told me this would take an hour and a half 3 hours later it’s not done, it took them forever to “fix” it. It wasn’t properly fixed, the breaks are still loose and sadly I didn’t realize till I got that the old seat pole was still stuck in my bike frame! To add more insult to injury they charged me 93$ for this shotty work. I would be a little less annoyed if they had at least been honest and told me they couldn’t get out the seat pole.nnRe-edit: I was never informed that it usually takes a day when asked how long it would take I was only told 1.5 hours. I would of been fine with leaving the bike if I was told that i am fully understanding and empathetic to any place being jack packed with work. However this lateness is a reoccurring issue and not something that just happens on the weekends. Secondly I was not told the pole couldn’t fully be removed, I paid for a service that wasn’t done. Thirdly it wasn’t until I came to pick up my bike 3 and a half hours later that I was told that the alignment of my wheel was off and that I would have to fix it for the breaks to be tighter, I was already running late and wasn’t going to sit around and wait longer it to re-aligned.

I'm so glad I came to John here after my bike's derailleur and hanger got smashed. He saved my bike and fixed it up and now works life a charm. I paid about $160 to have the derailleur, hanger, chain replaced and my tire straightened. A little pricey but worth it to get my bike back running again in an hour, plus I made a friend there who taught me how to fix my bike if it ever happens again. Would certainly come back.

Eddie is the nicest guy and super helpful. I bought a used bike and he was able to do a full tune up and retape the handlebars for me in two days. Also gave me advice on how much I should have spent on the bike and how to keep it safe in the city. I pick it up today and can’t wait!!!

Very convenient location, just off the bike path in downtown Eddie's Bicycle Shop Beach (behind Good Stuff). If you break down & are mechanically challenged like me, they will get you back on the road. They also rent bikes (& skates) and sell new ones, too.
