Motel 6 Rochester, MN

This Motel 6 has not been renovated. Don't be fooled when making your reservation online. The photos of the rooms available to reserve ARE NOT what the rooms look like in real life. Rooms are very small, dark, dingy and smell. We ended up going to another hotel after we paid to stay there. Never slept there.

Nothing like the pictures and felt dirty just looking inside the room. Ended up leaving and getting a different hotel. Couldn't even get a refund from that hole in a wall motel

I wish I would have read the reviews before going to this hotel, it would have saved me allot of trouble. First off I made a reservation online, the total after tax for 2 nights was suppose to be 128 and some change not including the $100.00 damage deposit. We arrive tired and just wanting to get some sleep and the next day are greeted by a angry apartment manager/owner, his behavior was very unprofessional and immature and completely unacceptable. He told us that we had only paid for one night and that I’m not suppose to leave my dogs in the room unattended, I apologized immediately as I was unaware of this and picked pet friendly hotel so I could go to my appointments over the weekend and not have to worry. After much confusion and the manager/owners unwillingness to talk about so situation so we were all on the same page he continued to yell at me and ask if I knew English. English is the only language I speak. Upon looking at the receipt from the following day we were charged $198.00 and some change, including the $100 deposit and were told we needed to pay an additional $75.00 the following day. So all together not including the deposit we paid $173.00 for a room we had reserved and been quoted for $128.00 AFTER tax. The manager did not seem to understand this. After some personal “investigating” he canceled our existing reservation when we arrived and created a new one so the price of the room per night went from 55.00 to 73.00 and there was still an extra $20 for “miscellaneous charges,” No one could tell me what that was for either. I called corporate and the 1st gal I talked to was nice and very helpful, the two people after didn’t care and didn’t seem to understand how someone at their franchise literally scammed us, didn’t honor the quoted price and was very unprofessional, all I got was that someone would call me in 5-7 business days. Still not a call. I understand this place is the cheapest in town but remember there’s a reason for that.

It's one of those places when it's your last resort and you have nowhere to go.nIt is better than the awful pictures I saw in the previous reviews. But still needs more cleaning. I was amazed by how quiet it was, maybe I was lucky.nTo be honest, there was nice receptionist. I was very tired, and he provided me with a room as quick as possible.

Honestly I had no problem really with this motel personally. I have read several of the really bad reviews, but I didn't have this same issues personally. It is an older motel 6 so if you expect that then you will not be surprised in my opinion. I definitely have stayed in worst motel 6 by far. This is nothing fancy but if your traveling and need a place to lay your head this place will do for the night.
