Don't book here! Don't give these people your credit card information, it is not safe.nI'd give it a zero if I could.nI saw their rooftop pool and thought it would be the PERFECT place for me and my twin sister's birthday weekend with the girls. I booked the weekend with a few weeks to spare.nnA few days before the trip when the girls and I were trying to plan out our weekend we realized we had to book a reservation in advance for the pool. We immediately tried to do so, but every single reservation time for the entire 3 day weekend was booked, and they only had one slot available for us after our checkout. Being that the pool was our selling factor, we had to find other accommodations with a pool and spa.nnThey refunded my card for the deposit at that time, this was back on March 11. So we stayed at the Westin instead (and got a much better rate, for a much nicer hotel, I might add). I thought that was the end of an already less-than satisfying experience with The Hewing Hotel.nnToday is April 1, and when I checked my bank account this morning, the hotel had charged back the refund. I'm still trying to figure it out.

The rooms here are fashionable but average as far as accommodations go. The beds are quite comfortable and the quality of the room is high but room sizes are smaller than average. Where the rooms may fail to impress, the Hewing more than makes up for with other features. The rooftop hot tub and bar overlooking downtown is a unique and wonderful experience. Similarly, the restaurant on the main level is appealing both visually and from a food and service perspective.

We loved this hotel!! Had a spontaneous weekend trip to Minneapolis and stumbled upon the Hewing. After reading the description and seeing photos online, we were sold. In person it was even better—impressive historic renovation with impeccable decor. I loved the artful Nordic touches. Everything was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had appetizers and cocktails at the bar and lounge and it may have been the best tartare I’ve ever had. We cannot wait to come back and stay again. 10/10 definitely recommend!

We just sat in the bar area for a few drinks and cheese curds. Phenomenal service and delightful craft cocktails!! The curds were also delicious and had some really special flavor touches. Can't wait to go back to try a few more cocktails and the brussel sprouts app!!

LOVED the hotel itself. Decor was great, rooftop hot tub, food, all great. Great precautions during the pandemic. The only negatives were my husband and I both ran out of hot water in the shower, the room is dark..not a ton of lighting so hard to see and the parking garage is fairly far, esp when its subzero temperatures.
