The restaurant service detracted from what might have been the most charming experience I have ever had in any hotel.nnWe paid $109 per night for Saturday and Sunday nights for a second floor room with a king-size bed opening onto the balcony overlooking the Alabama River. The view of the river was breathtaking, and the sense of history was stirring.nnBack to the restaurant. The food was passable but the service varied depending on staff members. Cimethia was an amazing representative for Hilton, and Owen tried. Ken was a top-notch professional as well. We were there on Easter Sunday and I require a special diet, so this was frustrating.nnHowever, we can't wait to return and will do so when the businesses in town are open!nnOh, yes, one more thing, the establishment observed pandemic safety protocols.

Our breakfast with family was great! It's only been open about a month, so they are experiencing growing pains, which is to be expected. They are working on this. Service was a bit slow, but the food is very very good and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. When you go to the St. James see Cynthia and Amber at the front desk! They are amazing!!! Tell them Paula sent you! Enjoy your experience at the St. James in Selma!!

We came to Selma to visit the town and enjoy a walk across the bridge. We made reservations at the Saint James Motel. Made several friends on Our first stay in Selma. Our stay at the St. James hotel was priceless. The staff was so nice and the rooms was very clean. Our problems came when we visted the restaurant in the hotel. We waited for over a hour before our order was even taken. Then when someone did come, they was so rushed that they did not even receive all the orders that we had. The food was missing certain things and we was really disapointed in this service. More people need to be added to help with this service. As far as the hotel it was great, but the restaurant, we will not visit again.

The bed in the room had a huge dip on onside. Toilet wasn't cleaned. Someone left grape vines all in the floor. We had to change rooms cause of the bed. Next room was dirty too. The NY strip steak In the restaurant was a no go. Undercooked on the inside. Burnt on the outside.nTo only be open since Jan. It was still dirty from being turned over. Dust and dirt on everything. The only thing good was the jumbolyia. Was really good. Just remember your only paying for the name Hilton. Doesn't meen its a nice place. Paris need to tighten your ropes. Or ship will sink

I stayed here before it closed. Bad deal but it has been bought and redone. I didn't get to stay but ate at Sterling (their restaurant). Very good food. I had the shrimp poboy
