We were coming to the area for a Spartan race and my husband found the Country River Inn. I was intrigued to stay at the converted school into bed and breakfast, and our stay was nothing short of exceptional. The owner takes immaculate care of the facility - everything is clean, nicely decorated, and reminds me of a quaint country inn on the inside. Breakfast was served hot, and was delicious. I enjoyed conversing with the owner about the area and everything in between. We enjoyed hanging out on the quiet outdoor deck and sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars. The owner goes out of his way to make sure your stay is perfect. He recommended great places to eat and information about the area. We definitely plan on coming back to stay and enjoy some of that famous West Virginia rafting and hiking in the future.

I LOVE this place! Amazingly clean. Owner is knowledgeable about the area and had great recommendations for activities and eating given our time restraints. Breakfast served in the morning. Would stay here again!

This is a gem of a hotel. Great beds, lots of room for groups. Hot tub and fire pit on deck. Good country breakfast and the hosts are inviting and helpful. Excellent base for exploring New River.

My husband and I were in town due to a surprise anniversary party for my parents and needed a room for the night. I am from this town and remember when this building was a school. It has been transformed into a small, quiet & quaint hotel off the beaten path. The owner made us feel very welcome and we were happy to pay the extra price for the peaceful atmosphere and to help a small hometown business owner. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone needing a place to stay.

Incredibly nice folks working at a quaint and clean establishment. Breakfast made every day. Hot tub. Great service.
