During the recent extreme weather conditions in Texas, When there was a major power/electricity outage as well as no water - my son who lives in Seattle reserved a room for me at the Candlewood Suites. I found The staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The room had a two burner cooktop, microwave, and a full size refrigerator. In addition there are cooking utensils and everything needed to prepare meals (including plates, glasses, and silverware). In essence, it was fully equipped. The rooms were clean and appeared to be sanitized. And most importantly, the bed is comfortable and the environment is quiet. For me it was ideal. Thanks Candlewood!
My mother stayed there for a month. I was worried about the the good price we found (believing it was a cheap place ). But no. The place is clean. It has all you need in the little kitchen inside the room. It had all she needed to cook. The bed was comfortable and the chair beside it was comfy too for her embroider and her reading. They have a common place to get extra kitchen appliances like blenders , slow cookers , etc. they have a gym that she used as we were in the Texas freezing storm. They did not charge for the use of the laundry machines. They have a little store with frozen foods, coffee and the little things that you may need. They are located basically in the Restaurant mile in cedar park. We walk to eat at torchis, Vietnamese, Panera. You can walk to target , Hobbylobby. Even to the movie theaters.nThe place is in a really save location surrounded with all the things that you need without needing a car.
The rooms are a little cold but thats ok
The customer service at this hotel was absolutely horrific. My mother’s home burned down in the middle of the recent winter storm and this is the hotel that insurance booked for her and my family to stay in for a couple of weeks. Below is her review from her stay:nnThere were many hiccups with the hotel throughout our stay. Until 3/2/21, I let everything slide but after the treatment received by management let me provide a few examples:n1.tFire alarm going off each time power went out. After barely getting out of a burning mobile home that is NOT a sound you can sleep through or relax. The person on duty did not know how to make it stop.n2.tShort staffed, wasn’t my fault a winter storm hit. It was all over the news - why was the hotel not prepared?n3.tTV continually not working in bedroom after numerous calls to front desk and visitsn4.tRemotes not having batteries.n5.tNo explanation on how the pantry or other amenities work when we checked in.n6.tHaving to wait at front desk for over 30 minutes to request a roll of toilet paper- unable to find attendant so left note at front desk and finally getting toilet paper nearly a hour later.nnAdditional general common practice questions at this hotel:n1.tis it common practice to ask guests if they are lying about their house burning down?n2.tis it common practice to ASSUME a guest is not following CDC guidelines and guidelines provided by the hospital rather than ask the guest?n3.tif health diagnoses must be disclosed to the hotel, shouldn’t that be posted?n4.tare people with the flu, cold, AIDS required to tell staff? If not, why were we told I should have disclosed my MEDICAL Covid results after being discharged from the hospital when I was in fact following ALL guidelines provided to us and even going above the recommended CDC protocols?nnAfter I told a guest I was not comfortable waiting for extended periods (longer than a hour) in a common area with other guests as she suggested just to use the washer/dryer I was HARASSED by Candlewood management. I received a call from the manager at the front desk asking if our house really burned down or were we really just here because of Covid!nnI would think anyone, let alone someone in management, would have more common courtesy then to call a guest a liar. No questions were asked about if guidelines were being followed...only assumptions made they were not. When in fact, we had been following CDC protocol to ensure safety for everyone around us and had been assured it was safe for those around us after hospital discharge.nnManagement is not even aware after you have recovered you can still test positive....”On August 3, 2020, CDC updated its isolation guidance based on the latest science about COVID-19 showing that people can continue to test positive for up to 3 months after diagnosis and not be infectious to others.”nnUnfortunately, Covid is not going away anytime soon. Additional Covid training as well as training on the correct way to treat and interact with guests would be helpful for your management.nnCandlewood Suites in Cedar Park will not be recommended to any one by our family and the insurance company has already been made aware of how we were treated by management during this EXTREMELY stressful and difficult time in our lives!nnI hope this this letter and posting will keep someone else from going through a similar ordeal at this establishment. I pray your management NEVER experiences the kind of pain and hurt we are living through right now.
We were here for 3 months. Our home had an accident and insurance got us this place. The staff made us feel at home gave us additional supplies even extra pan pots to make sure we live with satisfaction. Many times I got to borrow their Vaccum cleaner too as my baby was learning to eat. My baby almost took her first steps in their hallway. This place made us feel special and has special place in our hearts. Best was walking distance to so much shopping places that we use to go for when getting bored.
