Loved the room and the hotel overall. However, I would not have booked it if I had know it was covered with construction all around. We booked it for the restaurants as well as wanting to hang out at the pool everyday. The restaurants were good, but I won't make a special trip to them. All of the other restaurants in the McGuire restaurant group (the best in Austin) are better. The staff is fantastic. The pool is not usable. No matter the time of day, no sun hits it at all. It's on the 5th floor vs the roof, so shade comes from the surrounding high-rises.
During my stay at austin proper was one to remember. The entire building and staff are absolutely perfect!!! I'd like to shout out one if there team members who was so accommodating. Thank you so much Louie for all of the things you do to keep the ship sailing smoothly! I can't wait to go back!!!
Overall a beautiful and well-appointed hotel. Great gym facility and awesome restaurant.nnOnly downside is that they don't have a heated pool, which in April meant that it was well-nigh unusable. I wouldn't come back here for that reason alone unless it was in May-September.
Best staff ever. Stayed in this lovely hotel throughout the snowstorm of 2021. Out flights were canceled. The managers and staff did everything to make our stay lovely it this terribly difficult time. With all the Austin restaurants closed, the staff prepared and delivered meals to our room. Classy, dedicated amazing staff, hotel and management team.
Beautifully decorated boutique hotel in a terrific location in downtown Austin, close to 2nd street shops and the new library.nnWe had a few glitches with the air conditioning (very noisy and did not work properly, leaving room stuffy) and the television. However, since we got in relatively late we decided not to seek help for these issues. Given the courtesy and friendliness of the staff, I am sure they would have responded.nnThe Peacock restaurant and bar (we sat outside the evening we were there) are lovely.
