avid Hotel Beaumont

We arrived and checked in really easily. The hotel itself is really nice! However at 12:00 am we had someone trying to get into our room, they made multiple attempts at trying to open the door with their hotel key. Then shortly after the door opens (thank goodness we had the extra lock on the door as they were only able to crack the door). I get up and tell they have the wrong room. Then I call the front desk to let them know what’s going on and they said they would deactivate all the hotel keys for that room. In the morning when I went to checkout I talked to the manager about the situation. She already knew as soon as I told her what room number we were in what had happened. There was a guy that got confused about what floor he was supposed to be on and went to the front desk to get help opening our room door. The staff member went up to our room and was the one that opened the door. My question is why didn’t they check his ID to our info they have in their system!? Why was a staff member opening up our room without our consent in the middle of the night while we were asleep. AND in the morning when my husband went down to get us breakfast he was able to open our door back up so they didn’t deactivate the keys like they said they would! They should of made it right by not charging us for our stay that night.

The front desk is awesome. The lady with the dreads is amazing and friendly ( Sorry I don't remember her name). We were staying there for a funeral in Beaumont. Rooms were nice and clean but not a lot of space but I would stay there again.

This is a fairly nice, budget hotel that my wife and I were super excited to stay at. Although the room was tiny, we were able to make ourselves comfortable and settle in for the night really well. Unfortunately the two star is a result of our experience while trying to sleep. Another customer got confused and tried coming into our room at about midnight. This would’ve been excusable except not long after that, one of the front staff unlocked the door for him without confirming the customer’s room number or checking his name against our name on our reservation. Luckily I had locked the room with the top lock allowing them to only crack the door. This caused a huge disruption to our sleep and made my wife and I restless for the rest of the night. The front staff’s solution to this issue when I called down immediately after the incident was to deactivate all the keys to the room, which would cause an inconvenience if I needed to take our dog out to use the restroom. Luckily the front staff didn’t follow through with this solution and our keys still worked in the morning (although this means they didn’t go through with the solution without following up with us about the incident). In the morning at checkout, the only compensation provided was a few extra points on our IHG account. Personally I think a discounted rate (or even fully refunded) would’ve been much more palpable.

Clean and cozy. The rooms are smallish but make efficient use of space. The staff is friendly and helpful. Nice variety for breakfast and very good, fresh coffee.

Surprising place, very small rooms. I need a microwave and have no need of an ironing board. Coffee too weak!! Needs a bold feature!! No coffee pot in the rooms. Very limited space for luggage. Looks like a dormroom but cute.
