Beautiful place. Quiet. Friendly staff. Free laundry facility. Next door to a bowling alley and Ross is across the street. Lots of food choices near by including Apebees for late night snack or meals. I wish I could stay longer. I love it here.
We checked in Tuesday, 2/16/21, in the midst of the craziest winter storm Texas had ever seen. We booked the hotel around 4am on 2/16 which was a blessing, because I know they were sold out shortly after that.nnWhen we arrived at about 230pm (Check In was 3pm), we were told rooms weren't ready yet as they were still being cleaned. There was 1 person who had arrived before us so they would get a room first and then we would.nnThe phones were ringing off the hook. There were 2 gentlemen at the front counter and I saw 3 other staff members while I waited to check in. It was common sense to me that due to the weather, some staff had not reported to work and hence they were short staffed and working twice as hard to prepare for guests.nnMr. Keith, at the front desk, talked to staff and customers with patience and respect even when he had to deliver hard news. I repeatedly overheard him explain to customers that even though they were booking online, the hotel was sold out of rooms. He also was on the phone with someone else trying to get that fixed. There was a lot going on and emotions were on high for many during this stressful time when people were searching for places that had power and running water.nnMr. Keith shared with me that there would be a social at 530pm and breakfast in the morning. I had no idea that the social would include dinner (so far pizza Tuesday and burgers Wednesday) and drinks (beer, wine, soda) for FREE. Now, I'm not sure if this is their norm, or it's just a little extra care and concern due to the winter storm (many food places are closed and roads are hard to drive on), but it was GREATLY appreciated! The staff served the food as COVID is still a concern. Most people wore their masks throughout the hotel, unless they were sitting down to eat.nnThe room itself was nice and clean. The dishwasher had just been run, so I knew all the dishes were clean. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! If we weren't trying to conserve water, I'd be taking much longer showers here.nnThe only reason I couldn't give 5 stars at this time is I learned that the City of Denton began a Boil Water Notice on 2/17 around 6:00pm. I even showed the notice to one of the staff members. There was never any communication from the staff to the guests about this, which put people's health and safety at risk. I don't know how this would have been done, but sending emails, posting signs in hallways and elevators, or printing notices for each room were all options.nnAgain, I know a lot was going on and staffing was short. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. The full sized fridge and tiny 2 stove burner were important for us during this winter storm. The staff was SO hard working and kind (especially if you were kind to them).nnThank you, Mr Keith and staff! We appreciate you all.
This place must have gone downhill quick. I saw so many reviews about how nice it was. And granted the building itself was nice, but the customer service was complete trash. Short, unprofessional, uninvested. Rooms were awkward and small, A/C units did not work, no soaps, both myself and family has something broken in the rooms (baseboards, toilet seats). Breakfast was good but other than that this place sucked to be honest. Do not recommend.
This is a fairly new place I believe all the rooms are come with kitchenettes which is a stove top microwave full size fridge and dishwasher. Right now breakfast is mainly just a carry out bag cereals milk juice fruit yogurt and muffin. Staff is very polite and friendly help you out with anything if I can't pay my parking lots too small for trucks or pickups pulling campers call ahead for parking information for larger vehicles.
This is my home away from home. Clean comfy and great staff
