Comfort Suites North Charleston - Ashley Phosphate

When we arrived late Friday night, around 11:00pm. We were greeted by two young women who were more concerned with talking about a “party” they were going to rather then helping me as a customer. Had to ask what room number we were in. We get up to the 3rd floor to find room doors cracked open throughout the entire hall way. Did not feel very safe. When we walked into the room and I saw the couch I knew this hotel had to be the local brothel. There were stains all over the couch and no doubt, at all, where those came from. When I requested another room, I was more or less told “No”. Same girls downstairs discussing their party. I put a sheet over the couch and ignored it for the remainder of our stay. In the bathroom the tub was so dirty you could see the dirt stains in the bottom of the tub. There was orange sticky-like fluid splashed all over the walls in the bathroom as well. Toilet paper that had been saved from previous stay and “resealed” with their stamp. We took our 5-year old down to the pool to swim, to find the walls of the pool stained with dirt. This hotel is DEFINITELY not like it pictures it to be. There were several other hotels located around this one. It’s a great location to stay but would not recommend this hotel.

Where do I start? I’ve never stayed at a property where they don’t provide enough towels for the room capacity. I went to the front desk, to retrieve towels and wash clothes right after checking in. I received them. Fast forward to the next day. After spending a long, hot day at the beach, I came back to the room to find that housekeeping took the clean towels and wash clothes from our room and only leaving two. Two towels for an entire family! I go to the front desk to get more towels and wash clothes and was told that there was not any available. The clerk stated they were in the drier. Imagine telling your kids they have to wait when they ask for baths after been in the sun and sand all day. The clerk then sent housekeeping to ask if they could rewash the 2 towels that were in the room, what a joke! I waited a hour and half before asking again still no towels or wash clothes. After waiting 3 hours and asking 3 times about towels and wash clothes, I went to buy my own wash clothes and towels. Also took 3 hours to change the linen on a bed, and when housekeeping got to the room she was annoyed as well! They were not apologetic about the situation instead provide plenty of attitude! Secondly, When I checked in I presented the clerk with the card that I was using for the stay. Later that day,I checked my account to see that there was a pending charge on my debit card that I had taken off the booking. I went to the front desk to see why, and the clerk explained that cards are not updated through the site. I’m still wandering why wasn’t it updated at check in, when my credit card was given to the clerk, not my debit card. Needless to say I have two pending charges from Comfort Suites. And lastly our room wasn’t very clean there was stains on the couches and other places. I had to clean up a “clean room.” I would never recommend anyone to stay here!!!

Professional, Friendly, Safe. Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Front Desk all were helpful and made my stay comfortable not to mention the building was beautiful.

The accommodations, exercise room, the ity bity pool, the complementary breakfast and computer terminal were terrific. The staff always had a smile and a kind word.nThe only issue was trying to get back on the main thoroughfare during the daytime.
