We used Hyatt Place Downtown Charlotte as the hotel for our wedding guests to stay for our recent 3/7/21 wedding. Rosemary helped us plan this out from start to finish. She contacted me shortly before our wedding weekend letting me know all of our guests would be getting a lower rate than originally promised (BONUS!). Her staff handed out hotel welcome bags to all of our wedding guests upon checkin.nnWe had a meeting room off of the lobby which we used as an after party gathering area. We also had a suite which was used for all of our bridesmaids to get ready in on the day of the wedding. Even the valet staff was outstanding and asked me to see pictures from the wedding the next day.nnI never thought I'd be so pleased with a hotel experience, but I cannot imagine having our guests stay anywhere else! Most of our guests had never been to Charlotte, so this hotel was the perfect central location and they really enjoyed the view and menu up at Fahrenheit (on the roof of the hotel). We would highly recommend any engaged couples or those hosting an event use the Hyatt Place Downtown Charlotte!
The hotel is very clean and the room was large and spacious. The staff was also pleasant and the city views are gorgeous! The restaurant upstairs is really good from what I hear, but it creates large crowds in the hotel lobby and so much noise. It also makes for a lot of chaos with the valet parking as the area is relatively small but crammed with cars. Also, upon checkout I was double charged for parking and had to get that fixed. It will take several business days to actually receive the refund. The breakfast is continental which surprised me because with other comparable hotel chains a hot breakfast is usually included. This was more like what you'd see in a motel...muffins and cereal, and you better like orange juice because that's your only drink choice (besides coffee). Overall though, I'd have to say it was a good stay. The room was really lovely.
The hotel rooms are located above 10th floor. The lobby has an amazing view of Charlotte uptown and that’s where the continental breakfast is served. With the covid situation you get a to go coffee sleeves so that you can enjoy that in the room. The valet service for parking is a good option if you’re parking overnight as the options are as expensive as the valet parking. But overall a great experience.
This place has gone severely downhill. The smell of pot permeated my entire floor for half of my stay. There was no cold water in the faucet, only warm and scalding. TV had been disconnected and I had to manually reconnect it. Mini fridge made an unpleasant grinding sound all night. And to top it all off, on checkout the valet had a gaudy, handwritten sign asking for tips, despite not having my car ready 20 minutes after their text said it would be. I waited another 10 assuming it was coming, only to find out they were apparently just ignoring the text-requests entirely. Would not stay again.
We visited Fahrenheit 11 roof top venue. If you want great drinks, a fantastic view of Charlotte, great food or just great appetizers, this is the place.
