Holiday Inn Alexandria - Downtown

Giving this two starts because the area has been hit hard this year and I'm hopeful things will improve down the road, but this stay left us both feeling uncomfortable and concerned. My husband and I have stayed here in the past while visiting family, I was shocked at how much the hotel has declined. Despite the mandatory mask order from the governor the majority of both staff and visitors went maskless or with their masks not properly worn. There was also only one working elevator, and you limited use of the stairs. The room smelled very heavily of mold, there were lots of mystery stains, and the furniture was is in a sad state of disrepair.

As an oilfield worker we need our space with comfortable accommodations. This venue has just that.nThx. Again,nnThe MESA GROUP

Clean and comfortable. Read a review about the elevators. Both worked fine. I avoid hotel food as much as possible. Had no choice the first night and got an extreme blt. It was so good I got another the second night. Best room in Central Louisiana hands down. No druggies and shady people like almost every other property in the area. Family friendly. Will go back

Hotel is very open, nice layout, has grill and bar and several large sitting areas. Nice environment. We were getting in late so glad to see we could check in, eat and relax with friends.nnChecked in Friday pm, college tournaments in town so expected a line but wasnt expecting only one employee at counter. She was extremely nice, doing the best she could with tired travelers.nnRoom was nice, bed comfortable, nice full pillows. Didnt get much sleep, AC unit had loud whistling sound. Could not turn it off, thermostat not working. Ugh.nnEmployees at bar n dining area were friendly.nnWe were run out of dining area so employees could clean n close at 10 pm. Would have preferred they just tell us this instead of screaching metal chairs across floor and making as much noise as possible. A bit obvious so group moved - we understand the need to close and employees wanting to get off work.nnAll those nice sitting areas - not allowed to use after 10:30 pm, banned to your room. Asked if policy due to Covid...nope. Grown adults, not loud, not bothering anyone restricted to your rooms. Seems like visiting in our rooms would bother other guests. ???nnBreakfast was ok (I thought), can't cut sausage with plastic knife. Grits would have been good if they were at least warm. Later body did not react well to food, think food wasn't kept at proper temperature.nnHotel ok, but will probably try a different location on next trip.

Very clean rooms . wonderful and nice staff. And very hood breakfast at the hotel !
