Hill City Rentals

I relocated back to Virginia from Greensboro N.C.. I found a place with hill city Rentals and found out I was approved. I asked about cleaning the gutters before I moved in and when I came to move in they not only cleaned the gutters but cut down trees and mowed the yard and made the property look so much better. Every time I call they are very nice and prompt with whatever I need. I am very pleased!!

We gave a pet deposit, a deposit, and we filled the oil tank. We did various land scraping work to the home and cleaned debris from the property and cleaned the house upon move out.nnI want to add I have cleared housing with the military without ever being charged; anyone who has had to do this knows how difficult this is.nnDue to the oil not being filled before move in we went through the polar vortex winter without heat in 2019. The basement flooded four times each time was reported. Hill City did not notify use of possible flooding. We took a huge property loss during the first flood because we were unaware of the potential flooding.nnAt move out the house conditions and land scape conditions was not more than normal wear and tear. The wood from the 1960s doors was already peeling. The towel hanger fell off the tile wall with tile from just hanging towels.nnI did expect minimum charges and did not expect a full deposit refund but I did expect a refund. I called several times at no point did anyone indicate that I would be charged. In fact each time I asked about a refund they said they was unsure how much would be sent but it appeared some would be.nnToday when I called they said the sent the refund weeks back. When I asked them to please check on it they came back to the phone to tell me it wasn’t a refund but a charge that was send instead.nnI have not received any mail from them.nnPlan to fill out. BBB report especially if I’m charged.

Horrible rental company, probably the worst in town. We experienced clear-cut false advertising (in their online ads) and deceptive statements made over the phone--and I'm quite certain that if I didn't have photo evidence of the false advertising, we would have had to sue to get our money back; they denied everything and were rude and condescending until I told them I had the screenshots. (Then they called us back to apologize, but it was pretty clear they just didn't want to be sued.) The most stressful moving experience of my life. Don't believe a word they say, and avoid their properties if at all possible. If you must deal with them, get everything in writing.

Great experience with Hill City in the Wills Camp Lofts. Prompt responses to all emails, quick maintenance the few times I needed it and very accommodating for my move out date that changed multiple times. Received security deposit back within 10 days. I believe this is a good place to start looking for a place to rent or buy. There rentals are reasonably priced and they will do there best to find you a property located where you prefer.
