The Encanto was delightful and charming. Teresa has given much effort to details of decor and style. The artwork is distinctive. Our room was inviting and very comfortable. The cleanliness of our room, private bathroom, and common area ranked among the highest of places we've stayed. The hot breakfasts included baked French toast (best I've ever eaten) fresh fruit, individual quiches, hot blueberry muffins, juice, and coffee. She accommodated our schedule when we needed to board an early motor coach prior to the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic train ride. The stay was tops.

Very nice place to stay. The home is very pretty, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The hostess was friendly and she provided a delicious breakfast. If you are planning to take the train you couldn't be closer.

We spent a weekend in Chama, New Mexico at the charming ENCANTO BED & BREAKFAST, just a block away from the famous Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RailRoad Station. Our room was beautifully outfitted with artistic wall decorations, a very comfortable bed, glass-enclosed shower, plush bath towels, and efficient heating. The public room had a plush sofa and chairs, a large dining table, an impressive library of books and magazines, television, and a selection of sodas and snacks. Hostess Theresa was super friendly and always available to help, offering insights on things to do, Chama history, and local restaurants. An excellent cook, she served us wonderful breakfasts (egg soufflé and French toast, accompanied by delicious fruits, breads, and fresh coffee). At breakfast, we enjoyed nice conversations with other friendly guests. As the sun set in the late afternoon, my wife and I enjoyed sitting in the garden on the comfortable swings, chatting and drinking our glasses of wine, enjoying the lovely and peaceful bucolic ambience. Only problem was the lack of WiFi: the hostess’ residence right next door had WiFi, but it was not extended for B&B guests - so we couldn’t see restaurant reviews, plan excursions, or respond to family & business issues. This B&B is definitely highly recommended – but NOT if you need WiFi.
