Ouray KOA Holiday

April 2021- FRIENDLIEST STAFF! Beautiful “Kampground”! We stayed in a cabin right on the creek, they have heat and electricity which made for a very comfortable stay. Bathrooms are the beautiful and clean, not a spider to be found.

Highly recommend. Absolutely beautiful! Stunning location, great hiking and biking in the campground. Pet friendly. We visited in late October and everything was perfect—the weather, the fall colors, the creek flowing behind our full hook up site. One of our favorite parts was sitting by our campfire at night and listening to the creek. The on site restaurant had great food where we enjoyed a nice hot breakfast inside on a chilly morning and also carries convenient grab and go items. Be sure to make the short drive into beautiful Ouray, CO and drive the breathtaking Million Dollar Highway. Met some wonderful people, AMAZING staff all very friendly and accommodating! They take pride and it shows. Very clean facilities. Didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back!

Froze the first night due to a failed heater. Asked for a new one the next morning and was told a new one would be delivered. Came back early in the afternoon to check and it wasn’t replaced, went to the office to speak with a manager, no one bothered to speak with us but we were given a space heater as a temporary fix. During our stay we never did get the wall heater fixed. The front desk staff member was apologetic but nothing from management.nnAlso the grab and go burritos advertised weren’t available. When I brought up that the welcome packet was slightly misleading I got “clearly those are our summer hours and you should check the website.” The website does state the restaurant opens at 8am as does the welcome packet but grab and go burritos would be available from 7-8am. Slightly disappointing.nnBathrooms are cleaned every day at 11, went at 10 am before checking out to find them closed and got a “we decided to clean them early for church”.nnOverall I don't mind the changes from season to season but better communication for guest would be appreciated. Hope for a better experience if I stay again. We love Ouray and was hoping for a better experience.

Only checked in yesterday but so far so good. That's why I only gave it 4 stars. Beautiful surroundings, and very pleasant and helpful staff.

This is the nicest KOAs that I have been to by far. The location is great with amazing sites and some back up to a small stream running through the campgrounds. The facilities where great even including a small restaurant with coffee bar to get breakfast before you set out on your day of adventure. There is also dinner on some nights where you can have some great home recipe BBQ. The staff is accommodating and will do as much as they can to help you out. I highly recommend this place to everyone and have already added it to a place I will go again on the yearly trip west!
