We were on the road in our motor home and called for availability for our 24' RV. Marshall answered and said sure! He was closed for the evening but said he'd be happy to meet me at the office to check us in. He was so welcoming, explained the campground, offered a selection of sites, all the while acting as if he had all the time in the world and it was after hours! He gave me the weather report and said we must disconnect our water hose before bed or it would freeze. Great advice for a couple of folks from sunny California. Sure enough, it was snowing next morning. Great hiking trail right off the campground, fantastic sunset views, stunning mountains.

This place is so amazing!!! We stayed several times off and on over the last week, between roughing it. The staff that runs and are updating the grounds are a joy to meet and work with. The views are spectacular and watching the deer in the early light is captivating. I cannot wait to come back to the entire Buena Vista area. Thank you so much KOA staff, we are very impressed.

This place opened up with new owner and management. This is an amazing location with amazing views of the mountain with dear grazing on the grass all around us. Magical.nThe new management are lovely, and very welcoming.nWe were going to stay the night, but ended up enjoying it so much, we stayed off and on for a week.

We checked in from Sunday through Tuesday we stood @ site P48. We had great views of the mountains. The koa is far enough from US 24 that we did not hear any highway noise. beautiful scenery throughout. No grass anywhere. entire site is Dusty dirt throughout that was attracted to our little dogs. low water pressure on our site. the store seemed pretty equipped with various needed items. Service guy was not happy about being bothered to fill propane tank. $32 for 5 1/2 gallons of propane & two 20lbs bags of ice seems pretty steep. We would stay there again because the property was clean and maintained well & very family oriented

Just remember it's a Journey campground. It's not going to be luxury glamping. However, there are tons of outdoor activities close by and great hiking and mountain biking trails right from the campground. The hosts are great people, but I understand they are leaving after this season. Best of luck!
