Stayed for a weekend while visiting family. Incredibly clean, quiet, and comfortable. Hosts were wonderfully sweet and accommodating. Theresa, the owner said they had just had the water professionally treated but that it had smelled like sulfur in the past because they have wellwater -- water tasted and smelled great to me! They clearly take their reviews seriously, which is actually nice to see.nnLoved the location, and the nice basket of snacks they left out for guests. Overall a nice and affordable little getaway.

A reasonably priced , spacious and bright suite in the country near Cooperstown Dream Park . The apt was very clean and there was a full kitchen with lots of counter space. Yes the bathroom is small but there is an adjacent dressing area that enlarges the space . It is a basement apartment but you enter thru a sunny staircase and once in the apt it is bright and open. Plenty of linens and a nice outside area with plenty of parkng I would not hesitate to stay here again

I was leary after reading some of the reviews, but I am glad my family and I stayed here. YES it is a basement apartment, you will be hard pressed to find a rental in this area (that is not a hotel) that is not basement level. YES there was well water, perfectly safe and I actually prefer it over city water. YES this rental is a suite, I have no idea why people are complaining about this when it is clearly advertised this way. There is plenty of light, and it actually keeps the area nice and cool. The owners were very sweet, the rental was very clean. It was quiet and private, exactly what we were looking for! The only reason I gave this a 4 star instead of 5 is because it is not a hotel. If you are looking for a private country suite this is your rental--if you are looking for a hotel, go to a hotel.

The water smells of sulfur so if you aren't used to this and/or don't like it this is not a place for you. We went to a hardware store to see if we could get a filter. They said it is not dangerous but almost impossible to get rid of the smell. In addition the handles on the shower control did not work well causing my 11 year to burn himself and me to have to stick my hands under burning water to try to turn it off. The fold out chair bed was too uncomfortable for my son to sleep on so I tried it myself and it was like sleeping on uneven boards. The air purifier that the other review refers to is actually a dehumidifier. Ours beeps when it fills but this one did not. We were familiar with dehumidifiers so knew to empty it to get it to come on.nOwners did not tell us about the dehumidifier but it was so loud that we turned it off at night and let it run during the day. We wanted to leave early but couldn't get out money back. Ended up leaving anyway and eating it. Other poor review was accurate. Will not repeat what they already said. Not sure how a below grade basement with low ceilings meets housing code. I guess Oneonta housing codes must be different from where we live.

First this is a basement apt. It's not a one bedroom... It a room with a bed and 2 book shelves that separate it from the living room. The owners live above the apt and everyday you hear their dog barking and someone up there walkes like a horse! So if you plan to sleep in forget it! You can also hear the washing machine running and the vacuum. We were suppose to get a towel and Linen exchange 1/2 through the week that never happen so I took the towels myself to wash. There is not a broom or vacuum here so don't drop anything in the floors or you will have to walk on t all week. There is a air purifier in the apt on our 1st day it quit working we called they were suppose to come the next day and never showed! So without that it started to smell a little musty with the rain and your in a concrete basement! We also had a picnic table and woke up on the day before we leave and it's gone. So my son who does smoke had no where to sit outside while he smoked. The bathroom is very small and the door won't stay open because it's not level and the shower is only good if your 5 foot or less my husband and son had to squat to shower.
