Holiday Inn Express Oneonta

Horrible check in experience. After a 12 hour drive we arrived in the parking lot only to discover they do not have oversized vehicle parking spaces. Not for trucks or trailers.nnThe hotel lot was full and we were unable to find parking. Upon checking in I asked the front desk attendant (the gentleman working the pm shift on 10/19 at 9pm) if we could park on the grass or if they had suggestions on how to solve this issue.nnHe told us we couldn’t park on the grass or the side of the building and recommended that we park at Marriott or McDonald which is a half mile to a mile away!!! I immediately told them I would like a refund if we can’t park here.nThey wouldn’t even offer to go outside and help us survey the lot of suitable parking options. I had to tell him to come with me outside and see for himself that there are no spots left except for the grass or in front of the dumpster.nnThat’s when they told us we can stay parked in the portico area until his shift was over. At 11pm him and the other front desk agent would leave and we could take their two spots. I’m shocked that they didn’t move their cars right then and there. Instead I had to wait an hour to be called out of my room and move my vehicle after a 12 hour trip!nnSince the parking issue took up so much time we were not given the normal check-in procedure of telling us where the elevator is located so we can find our room, check out time, etc.nnThen I ordered delivery and asked the driver to bring my food to my room. But the driver was stopped by front desk and had to leave my food there. I was called down to pick up my food! After 12 hours of driving and it taking 35 minutes to figure out parking at the hotel I was very disappointed with the level of service I received.nnI work in hospitality management and thought of several solutions I would have offered a guest in my situation. I think management needs to train their agents better on guest recovery.nnOn a positive note, the room and hotel was very clean. As an Executive Housekeeper myself I inspected the room and public areas and found it to be very good! Kudos to housekeeping!nnAdvice: if you are trying to stay at this hotel with an oversized vehicle I would recommend calling ahead to see if they are sold out otherwise you should go to the Marriott down the street. They had parking for trucks and trailers.

The room was very clean. Zero complaints. Bed was really comfortable as well.nThe staff is great. They've done a good job with the continental breakfast despite how difficult it is with Covid right now. Better than their competitor who we usually stay with

I stayed here for one night and was very happy with the cleanliness of this Hotel. We thought the beds were on the soft side. They had multiple pillows of varying firmness to choose from. I feel like the room was well laid out and the bathroom was fairly large with a nice glass door walk-in shower. It seemed like a good hotel with a moderate price around $100/night.

The accomodations were nice but the breakfast is less desirable. I know they had to curtail a complete breakfast due to covid 19 restrictions but this is rediculus The green yellow bananas we're rotten. No hard boiled eggs. No cartons of whole milk and coffee grinds in the coffee. Having an included breakfast is no longer an enticement to stay here

This has been always a great place to stop for the night. Clean and courteous there is never a question about how my stay is. Convenient snacks on location but like any convenient food expect to pay more. The accommodations are more than satisfactory but due to the covid they did have the pool, lobby gathering spot, and a couple other things off limits but that is understandable. Hope this helps. Everything in there feels like new.
