Grey Gables

Grey Gables is a true treasure! From the beauty of the woods, to the exquisite decorations throughout the house, Grey Gables is a wonderful getaway stay. It is so obviously loved so much by Mike and Kim, and their two adorable dogs! They were incredibly helpful throughout our stay, always making sure we were having a great time.nnMy boyfriend and I slept in the Bicycle room and oh my gosh, that bed was heaven! I haven't slept that well in a while. Not only was the room cozy, and the bed comfy, but the bliss of how quiet it was really made it a great night. You couldn't hear a thing outside, which is something I am not used to living in the city! All the bedrooms are perfectly decorated and well taken care of. There are TVs in the bedrooms so you can relax and watch a quick movie, or enjoy the silence with a book.nnIt was great to find a pet friendly home that wasn't obviously pet friendly. They really take care of it and make sure their guests will be comfortable, whether they have pets or not!nnI highly recommend sitting on the porch with your morning coffee, or a glass of wine in the evening. Perhaps a night time fire in the back while taking in all the trees and animals nearby!nnWe will be staying here again for sure!!!

We stayed at Grey Gables for 5 nights in October 2020, leading up to our wedding in the Albany area.nnMike and Kim were first class hospitality from the first moment we arrived until we departed. The house is beautiful & charming and provides ample space & flexibility. And the backyard and back deck were great. There was even a freak thunderstorm in the area that temporarily knocked out power and Mike & Kim had a generator for us to use until the power company restored power....just a sign of how they go above and beyond.nnWe would highly recommend their house.

My husband and I along with a friend (3 people total) stayed at Grey Gables in late August to visit the area. Kim and Mike made our stay perfectly comfortable. They did a great job updating their historic home with all the modern conveniences. I'm glad we visited in the summer so we had a chance to enjoy the beautiful backyard with a garden and fire pit. In fact, Mike set up the fire pit for us and had it ready to go. I only regret not bringing marshmallows.nnI'm confident we'll turn into repeat customers. We're already thinking about our next trip. We'll bring our bikes next time for the rail trail just minutes away from the property. And, there are lots of great restaurants nearby but if you'd rather cook, they have a fully equipped kitchen and a grocery store in town.nnI can't wait to visit again in the fall or winter. I can only imagine what the woods behind the house look like with the changing leaves.nnI highly recommend Kim and Mike's place. Definitely better than any local hotel AND reasonably priced for what you get.

I rented this magnificent home for a month from the middle of December to the middle of January. Coming in under two weeks before Christmas, it was so very comforting to find a beautiful Christmas tree all set up with lights and decorations!!! Besides the tree there were lovely Christmas touches all over the home! It felt like home immediately!nKim and Mike couldn't have been lovelier hosts and were ever ready with any requests I had!nMyself and my four children stayed in the home along with our dog and we couldn't have felt cozier or more comfortable.nMy only wish is to come back in the warmer weather and enjoy the front porch and beautiful backyard and its lovely views!nA truly wonderful vacation and holiday!nMany, many heartfelt thanks to Kim and Mike!

We loved our stay here! The house is unique and the hosts are amazing. They let us borrow bikes to go on a beautiful bike ride. It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday. We stopped by a little ice cream shop to get a scoop on our ride. The house has a wonderfully relaxing backyard also.
