Amazing place! Jim and Joan are so thoughtful and kind. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious. Breakfast is plated and brought to your room. They are very COVID-19 friendly; masks are worn in all the common spaces. Jim provides several menus and recommends a lot of great restaurants in the area. The strawberry rhubarb muffins are delicious!! 10/10 would recommend.
What a lovely stay in a beautiful neighborhood! We stayed at the Ellery House over the winter holiday. (Note, this review is during COVID, we were the only guests in the house, and Jim, the innkeeper, took multiple precautions to keep himself and us safe). The place was super quiet, clean, and situated on the NE end of Duluth with easy access to downtown and the North Shore towns. Jim was super responsive and attentive to any need. You can tell he enjoys what he does and is enthusiastic about his city, which is always a pleasure to see/experience when traveling. He is also a great cook! We would definitely return.nnWe stayed in the Daisy Suite. Photos show 1 breakfast, part of the bathroom (which has a tub and shower), and the day room adjoining the bedroom (no photo bc we didn't get one before we unpacked).
Delightful atmosphere, divine breakfasts and incredibly friendly staff. Far enough away from canal park to be quiet, close enough to be convenient.
My husband and I spent the weekend in Duluth and stayed at the Ellery house. It was a WONDERFUL experience. The staff(Maddie) was very welcoming and friendly. She also had amazing suggestions for things to check out in Duluth. The house is also beautiful and the breakfast was amazing! Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying. Can’t wait to plan another trip back!
Jim was an excellent host and our stay was very comfortable. We stayed 3 nights in the Ellery room which we thought was a decent space with what we needed. Jim gave us really good ideas for where to eat and what we could do while staying in Duluth, and was very accommodating to our dietary needs, as well as our schedule. I liked the open coffee/tea area where I could get tea at afternoon/evening hours, and the breakfasts were great. I'd recommend a stay here!
