We stayed here during our fall visit in 2018. The house and the room were very charming. Everyone was very friendly. The staff are very knowledgeable about the area. The kitchen was accommodating when we mentioned that my wife is a vegetarian. The rates were very reasonable. Highly recommend a stay here.

Dan made the experience just magical! I can't express how happy I was that I made the choice to stay here. I would do it all over again. Dan is patient and offers a very detailed guide on how and where to go around Acadia, depending on how long you have and what your goal is. We were able to map out of the best days I have ever had. Dan prepares you for the day by making a delicious breakfast. First day I had banana walnut pancakes with sausage and the second day I had an omelet with toast. Coffee and tea are always available. It was only two days and only a wonderfully planned trip can come in small doses like this one. Dan i shared it with you then and I will now, thank you!

Warm welcome by the front of house staff! The rooms are indeed dated but they're very comfortable and clean. Hot water and pressure were very good. Room has a mini fridge. Had a fireplace which looked to take real wood - didn't use it.nnEach morning we were greeted by Dan, the Innkeeper, which is an incredibly humble and nice human being. Coffee was fresh and hot with hot water, milk, tea and sugar as well.nnThe breakfasts... Wow! Really good!! First day was a choice of blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage and an orange slice or an open faced fried egg ham sandwich with sausage and salad. Both very good! The next day was blueberry french toast or goat cheese quiche (with bread) and both came with sausage. I got the quiche and it was unreal!nnDan was super helpful planning hiking trips within Acadia and exploring Bar Harbor. Would totally stay here again!

Great B&B our second time here and would come again! Felt safe and secure amongst all the crazy covid regulations. Breakfast to go was always perfect and so yummy! Was thankful we were able to enjoy it on our balcony each day!

We really enjoyed our Sun-Wed stay at Castlemaine Inn! The honeymoon suite was very cute and so spacious, and the breakfasts were great every day. It's close to everything in Bar Harbor, easy access to Acadia, and a quick walk to the Bar Island land bridge. It's a B&B, so very pink and not a sleek modern hotel, but the giant bathroom with jacuzzi tub was relaxing, the separate entrance was great for COVID travel, we loved the fireplace, big bed, and little private deck. There were 2 AC units, and only one worked, but it worked well for the space. Nice to have a mini-fridge and cable TV too. Amazing star-gazing if you head across the street after dark!
